Pete Yorn & Scarlett Johansson Breakup. not that it’s true, because they were never together. it’s just the title of their duet album due September. damn it. feeling like a tmz gossip whores right now - so while we’re at it… how about this picture?

anyways, the duo’s first single “Relator” is a solid pop tune with a classy old fashioned rock ‘n’ roll swing to it. Pete Yorn pens yet another gem, and Scarlett’s sultry almost raspy alto adds the right tone. blahblah yeah she’s an actress who’s doing the music thing… but fuck it’s better than hearing Feist do another damn duet.

our vote, she sticks with lucky bastard pete, and stays away from tom waits and jeff buckley covers.. Ghost World = pizza party.

Jimi Hendrix - Little Wing

Jimi Hendrix’s former roadie James ‘Tappy’ Wright claims in his new book “Rock Roadie” that Jimi was murdered by his manager Michael Jeffrey in order to claim his life insurance. This confession was made to Wright in 1971, just two years before he was killed in a plane crash.

The manager seemed worried that Hendrix was about to sack him, even though Jimi had recently taken out a life insurance policy worth $2 million naming Jeffrey as beneficiary. Jeffrey supposedly confessed:

“I was in London the night of Jimi’s death and together with some old friends… we went round to Monika’s hotel room, got a handful of pills and stuffed them into his mouth…then poured a few bottles of red wine deep into his windpipe.” more… “I had to do it. Jimi was worth much more to me dead than alive… that son of a bitch was going to leave me. If I lost him, I’d lose everything.”

Hendrix’ body was found at London’s Samarkand Hotel in a room booked by some chick named Monika whom Jimi had known for a few days. The coroner recorded an open verdict, stating cause of death was “barbiturate intoxication and inhalation of vomit”.

If it is true, at least we know why Jeffrey was killed in a plane crash..

Sometimes when watching your telescreen, impulse leads you to revisit that old something you used to love. For me it was music tv. Naturally… my options were limited, but i soon flipped to fuse and learned that occasionally they air the BBC’s Later… with Jools Holland. I was shocked!
