Icarus Himself – On Your Side

We heard “On Your Side” by Wisconsin band Icarus Himself the other day and we’ve had it in rotation here at b3sci HQ ever since. “On Your Side” is built around a simple psychedelic-esque groove that serves as the foundation for big distorted guitars, organ washes, and a nice sharp little melody. Where a lot of tracks in this lane, if not properly restrained, venture into Jesus and Mary Chain cover band territory, “On Your Side” has a gravity and soulfulness to it that separate it from bands drawing from a similar palette of instrumentation and influence.
