Premiere: K.Flay – Time For You (B.Lewis Remix)

KFLAY Press WEB-144

We’ve been B.Lewis backers for about as long as B3SCI has been around. Here, the San Jose-based producer laces world-beater K.Flay (the owner of a Billboard Rap Albums Top 20 and a successful stint on the Warped Tour) with his signature synth-heavy vibed-down tones and layered easy feeling beats. K.Flay’s Life Is A Dog LP is out now.

Miles Bonny & B.Lewis – Bottom To Top

milesbonny

Two b3sci faves connect as KC soul crooner Miles Bonny jumps on new production from West Coast artist B.Lewis. “Bottom To Top” is a 3:24 full submersion experience in that futuristic soul. B.Lewis’ spacey but warm production layers form the perfect bed for Miles’ float-on-top-the-mix vocal tones. Spin “Bottom To Top” below.

DJ Shadow – Scale It Back (Feat. Yukimi Nagano) (B.Lewis Remix)

yukiminagano

THREE B3SCI FAVS ON ONE TRACK! The stars do really align, as the homie B.Lewis dials Shadow and Yukimi’s “Scale It Back” into the stratosphere. Starting the mix with just an a capella Yukimi vocal (listen to Yukimi just shred that melody), the track then builds into an uplifting power jam, complete with spacey electronics and scaled up chords.

B.Lewis – Les Saisons

lewis

The homie B.Lewis released another fresh project on his bandcamp today. “Plug”, an 8-song EP, has the SF producer dabbling in a bit more funkier/hardier synth textures but it’s the chilled “Les Saisons” that is our pick from the set. Check it out.

Flying Lotus – Tea Leaf Dancers (B.Lewis Remixes) (Feat. Andreya Triana)

peterblewis

b3sci fav B.Lewis offers a ‘choice’ of “Tea Leaf Dancers” in the form of two remixes. The first, “Stay,” is mellow and groovy. The second, “Leave,” takes a different direction with syncopation and harmonic accompaniment. Staying true to the original, both are worth checking out.

Andrea – Down (Feat. Vanessa Elisha)

andrea

We’re into the infinite charms and heady-atmosphere of “Down” a beauty from French producer Andrea who creates a gorgeous soulful vibe on the track with his outstanding harmonious male-female vocal duet; which features sultry-vocaled Australian songstress Vanessa Elisha who we recently discussed on B3 for her sensational talents on B.Lewis collaboration “Down For This”. Great track. “Down” is presumably the first to release off Andrea’s “Black Magic” EP which is out on July 10th via Jakarta Records. Reviewed by Erin Shay.
