Warp artist Jimmy Edgar gives Py’s in-b3-rotation “Polyethers” single a big beats makeover; but in a way the maintains the ethereal other-worldly quality of Py’s original track. The contrast makes for an interesting (and worthwhile) listen.

Johnny Stimson will be releasing his Human Man EP this coming July. And to help celebrate, NYC crew The Golden Pony have remixed “Human Man” into something of an EDM machine. The Pony’s remix is part of a new set of tracks featuring versions of “Human Man” from the likes of Vice, Dirty Tees, and Holborn Circuit. As Johnny himself puts it, “the chorus hits so hard. I adore it. Strange, because I (at one point) asked my manager for an actual pony. Instead he gave me this Golden Pony remix and I’m not even mad. A+++.” There you have it folks, straight from the horses mouth. So don’t sleep on this one, press play below.

Freeze-Tag out of our home hood of Cleveland delivers in “Fall in Love” a unique and expertly styled take on contemporary R&B, adding less-traveled in 2013 textured to create a transportative, cinematic, progressive push to the genre.

An interesting (yet unexpected) choice of remix source material from Flume, as the Australian producer give Rustie’s “Slasherr” the “Flume treatment”. The mix sounds (almost unbelievably exactly) like what you’d expect a Flume remix of Rustie would; the bombast, energy and get-up of Rustie’s original has been mostly retained supported by broad sound palette and visceral rap-informed beats.

Jamie Isaac, a producer out of the UK that we’ve been quite into recently, remixes CHVRCHES’s brand new “Gun” track (amazing to turn around such a compelling remix so quickly!) into a soft shoe waterdrops-on-the-petals-of-roses late night quiet storm affair; a nice piece of indie R&B for yr indie R&B shawty or shawtay.

The prolific Amtrac tries on a bit of UK pop (in the form of TDCC’s “Handshake”) and manages a smanger. We’re definitely into Amtrac taking on more tracks of this type.

“Stay Forever”, the latest single from Catching Flies, continues forward the rapid progression of the London-based producer. Following up a Hype Machine #1 and a spin from Gilles Peterson, “Stay Forever” is simply a brilliant piece of beautiful beats-based electronic music. Subtle cracks in the tape, acoustic guitar washes, sleepy sax all frame an atmosphere brimming with drama and cinema. Catching Flies’ arrow is clearly oriented up. “The Long Journey Home”, the new EP from Catching Flies, is due June 17.
