Labrinth – Last Time (Knife Party Remix)

labrinthlasttime

Awwwww shit. Check this 20,000-pound megatron bomb of a remix from Knife Party! If we’re being honest, the original “Last Time” kinda sucks. It’s comes off pretty flat when compared to other Lab produced tracks like “Earthquake” and “Pass Out”. Fortunate for Labrinth’s listening public, Knife Party has swooped in and delivered “Last Time” from the shit track respirator. Fully resuscitating it into a must hear full fathom five club banger. Shouts to our fam at DoML for the rip.

Nero – Must Be The Feeling (Brookes Brothers Remix)

nero2

UK D&B journeymen Brookes Brothers put an A+ new spin on Nero’s latest. BB’s production choice has elements of classic D&B in it but it’s certainly not pure to that genre. There’s bit of drumstep, pop, and rock weaved through there too. Top shelf stuff. We are into it. Give it a spin below.

Dalai Lama Renaissance – 80 BPM

dalailamarenaissance

“80 BPM” by Belgian trio Dalai Lama Renaissance is a simple & smooth slice of beats, far-off atmospheres, and soul. What probably separates “80 BPM” and DLR from the mountain of similar sounding submissions we get on the reg is that soul. There’s a weight and emotive punch that not only supports but gives the track a liveliness and vitality that should keep you engaged 20-30 spins into the future.

Shlohmo – wen uuu (Teebs Mix)

teebs

Brainfeeder representative Teebs mixes down Shlohmo’s brill “wen uuu” track. Opting for a smooth 808-esque rhythm track and a subtly mixed sultry vocal sample (Is that our girl Tracy Thorn?), Teebs takes “wen uuu” DEEP. Look out for Shlohmo’s “Vacation” 12” with remixes from Airhead, Salva and Nicolas Jaar due Valentine’s Day.

Galapagoose – One Who Can’t Move

galapagoose

“One Who Can’t Move” from Australian producer Galapagoose has all the trappings and niceties of an accomplished electronic track; it skillfully melds several genres and styles and ably blends a complex (but compositionally tasteful) arrangement. The standout element of the track though, for us, is it’s great pop sensibility. Galapagoose’s use of the Sinatra “Send in the Clowns” sample in the context of the track is really A+ stuff. Listen.
