Elohim will make her New York/East Coast debut this week with two shows at CMJ; Wednesday October 14 @ Piano’s (9:30pm set) for the Crack in the Road / Disco Naïveté showcase and Thursday October 15 @ Webster Hall for the Neon Gold ‘New Shapes’ showcase (10:00pm set). Here, Elohim remixes her recent collaboration with Casey Veggies “All That Gold” with a hazy crepuscular wash that we love. We’re intrigued by the chipper-tempered spacey-shimmery synth-loaded effects and fabulous scattery-paced dance-centric disco-boogie vibes of “Say” the catchy new stand-out pop track from Cash Wednesday, a mysterious new artist that is rumored to be B3 favorite versatile-talent man-of-the-moment Skylar Spence (who we last covered here recently for his Prom King EP track “Cash Wednesday”). B3 favorite Hatian-Canadian producer/mentor/industry-connector Kaytranada wows us yet again with classics on his top-notch club edit of Busta Rhymes featured Tribe Called Quest track “Oh My God”. Kaytranada creates a beautifully translated impeccable meld of dramatic piano chords, catchy well-timed vocal infusions and a vivaciously slick and stylized bass-line that we are caught up on. This summer we discussed Baltimore producer Rashad Tek Williams, a.k.a. TEK.LUN, for his incredibly artful meld of vibrant sizzlingly-slow sultry come-hither experimental beats and sublimely dark church-bell-infused synthed-out-organ-vibes on his track “Ar”. Get into his new bass-laden creepy-vibe dynamo called “Shush” which grabs our attentions with its dramatic-haunting (deep and stormy) synth-framed atmospheric instrumentals and intense-feisty mood setting beat-laced temperatures.
