Crooked Colours – Step

crookedcolors

Last year B3 featured Perth, Australian live electronic trio Crooked Colours for their excellent visceral-melodic soul-inspired third release “In Your Bones”. We love the group’s new ultra catchy synth-driven slow burner vox-enhanced neo-techno gem track called “Step” which captures a upbeat dance-centered edgy vibe while still remaining quite chill. If you are lucky enough to be in the area, Crooked Colours head overseas for the first time this month to perform at Culture Collide Festival in Los Angeles and CMJ Music Marathon in New York. Excellent tune. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

Panama – Jungle (GXNXVS Remix)

B3 fave producer GXNXVS (Genius), who recently remixed Theophilius London’s banger drum-inspired Kanye-produced dance track “Tribe” into a strikingly effervescent cool-as-rain R&B jam, wows us again with a beautifully simple bass-driven syrupy r&b mood-altering spin of B3-lauded Panama track “Jungle”. Amazing vibes. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

Tom Misch – Clapclapclap

tommisch

We last covered B3 favorite, London multi-instrumentalist producer/vocalist Tom Misch for his Jordan Rakei-vocaled neo-soul-bented song “Wake Up This Day”. Give a listen to his newly released funky rhythm-centric instrumental gem called “Clap Clap Clap” for a vivacious-synth-layered hand-percussion-infused sonic pick-me-up that excels in that nicely-understated instrumentally-stunning Tom Misch style which we dig so much. Acclaimed LA artist, producer, and composer Flying Lotus teams up with Seattle rap set Shabazz Palaces and LA-bred multi-genre bass player/singer Thundercat for a new collaboration called WOKE; which according to Fly Lo in an interview with Pitchfork was named for the trio’s feelings on “dreams and stuff and astral experiences”. We’re into the eclectic-star-packed project’s very vibe-y mood-drenched atmospheric first single “The Lavishments of Light” which showcases Parliament-Funkadelic legend George Clinton. Weird Inside – No More Heroes

weirdinside

B3 recently highlighted New Jersey native ani bharad (a.k.a. hip-hop producer Weird Inside) for his beautifully subtle jazzy-slow-trickle sensed instrumental jam called “Nothing”. We highly recommend Weird Inside’s new brightly-inspired slow-unfolding melodic toned instrumental track called “No More Heroes”; which revels in a molasses-y and deliberate-methodical pace, cumbersome sullen-vibe metallic accents, gorgeous tip-toeing piano chords and subtle dark-moody deep-scratchy synth-led atmospheres. Amazing song! Reviewed by Erin Shay.
