Noname Gypsy – Open Apology (Feat. Saba)

nonamegypsy

Noname Gypsy teams with another Chicagoan Saba for the coolly soulful new one “Open Apology”. A quieting Rhodes conveys a grey CHI backdrop on “Open Apology” as the two talented native emcees trade evocative smoothly hewn bars. Listen.

CALEBORATE – Want It All (Feat. G-Eazy)

caleborate

This is my first time hearing of CALEBORATE, however it won’t be the last. He links up with one of my favorites G-Eazy for “Want it All”. The flow varies throughout the song, which displays CALEBORATE’s versatility. The beat is a blend of echo vocals and an interesting mix of varying looped sounds. CALEBORATE dropped a solid project a couple months ago called Hella Good, listen to it. Reviewed by Jake Goldstein.

Logic – Fade Away

logic2

Logic just released his third single off of sophomore album The Incredible True Story titled “Fade Away”. Logic might have the best flow in hip-hop right now and “Fade Away” displays it; as the dynamic MD rapper can speed it up for a few seconds, then slow it down to emphasize a potent lyric or take on multiple personas/narrative perspectives in a track as shown off in “Fade Away”‘s multi-faceted bars. G-Eazy – Random

geazy

G-Eazy’s forthcoming album When It’s Dark Out is set to drop December 4th. The Bay Area artist has dropped several singles from the project in the lead up to its release and not a one thusfar has missed. The latest, “Random”, is an anthemic track dedicated to Gerald’s hard work and devotion toward his art; proclaiming “none of this is happening by accident”. Reviewed by Jake Goldstein.

Premiere: LZRS TXN – Let It Go

lzrstxn

LZRS TXN (Lazarus Taxon) is the newcomer duo of Austin-based producer Evil Earn and Boston emcee and singer Francis Sobotka. Debut track “Let It Go” turns about a space house instrumental frame fit to Francis’ contemplative bars and hits for us stylistically somewhere between mid-career Lupe and The Foreign Exchange. Stream the B3 Premiere of “Let It Go” from LZRS TXN below.

Joey Purp, Vic Mensa & Two Fresh – Still Got It

twofresh

In May B3 featured Nashville-born LA-based twin-brother electronic beat-maker production duo Two Fresh (Kendo and Shweez) for their bright and snazzy hella-mellow Towkio-Joey Purp collaboration “Gettin Throwed”. We’re quite impressed with Two Fresh’s latest bold and brazen dramatic-vocaled bass-line-groove-heavy hip-hop track “Still Got It” off the duo’s upcoming sophomore album called Torch. Featuring a few choice lines from SaveMoney artists Joey Purp and B3 fave Vic Mensa “Still Got It” revels in a fresh-vibe street-laced personality amidst oodles of Two Fresh’s flow-dynamic vocals and signature beats. QUINN XCII – Stung

quinn

Quinn XCII is the man out of Detroit, Michigan who caught my eye earlier this year with his “Change of Scenery” EP. Featured here is new track “Stung” which features first class production done by oft-collaborator Ayokay who produced all of “Change of Scenery”. Look for more from Quinn in the upcoming months as he’s been teasing another EP on his Twitter page. Reviewed by Jake Goldstein.

Michael Christmas – Grab Her Hand (Feat. Mac Miller)

Michael Christmas’s debut album What a Weird Day dropped recently featuring the likes of Mac Miller and Logic and with production from Nate Fox Rami Beatz and more. “Grab her Hand” (the track listed) showcases Christmas’s clever lyricism over a vaguely psychedelic beat produced by a team of the aforementioned Rami Beats and Nate Fox with Ashe. GoldLink – Dance On Me (Brasstracks Remix)

goldlink

We fell for the lavish instrumentals and well-executed Latin-flavor horn flourishes of “Sometime” a disco-tempered house collaboration from Portland producer/DJ Dallas Cotton and Brooklyn musician/producer duo Brasstracks. We’re still totally into Brasstrack’s signature bold and upbeat instrumental barrage of brassy sound on their amazing horn-characterized remix of “Dance on Me” the refreshingly flippant-forward vocals-centered song from B3-fave VA-based versatile trend-bent emcee/vocalist Goldlink (who we just discussed for his awesome vocals on the superbly wrought rhythmic-melodic hip-hop-inspired r&b-lustered smash hit Benny Sings single “You and Me”). Logic – Like Woah

logic

Logic’s album, The Incredible True Story, was announced to drop next month following the release of “Young Jesus” featuring Big Lenbo. The second single off the album (excerpted here) “Like Woah” is a 6ix produced track reminiscent of Logic’s hard beginings and lyrically a tribute to his current lifestyle.
