The Japanese House – Sugar Pill

japanesehouse

We’re transformed by the profoundly-tranquil guitar-tinged sentiments, beautiful synth-led atmospheres and divinely-meloncholic expansive-lovely vocal harmonies of new track “Sugar Pill” from B3-discussed producer The Japanese House a.k.a 20-year-old Amber Bain; a promising new artist who we covered in April for her exquisite-vocaled Frou Frou-vibe quiet-wonder “Sister”. Look for The Japanese Houses’s latest track “Sugar Pill”, to accompany already-released “Cool Blue”, “Clean”, and “Letter By The Water”, on her forthcoming sophomore EP “Clean” which is out via Dirty Hit Records on November 6th. NoMBe – Kemosabe

nombe2

We’re amazed by the awesomely-capricious synthy-funky groovy-guitar-touched sentiments and sweetly-luminous vocals-led melody of “Kemosabe” the superbly-catchy and poetic new one from B3-favorite LA-based producer/artist Noah McBeth, also known affectionately as NoMBe (an artist who is a shoe in for our year-end best-of lists for his uniquely drawing songwriting, lovely plaintive vocals and/or for his heavily remixed breakout-dynamo hit “California Girls”). George Cosby – Vacant Grace

georgecosby

In the blog biz, those instances where a track/artist completely stop you in a moment and cause you to pause right there and just listen are really really special. “Vacant Grace” by UK newcomer George Cosby was one of those moments for us. “Vacant Grace” is stunning song and a powerful listen. Listen.

Francis – Follow Me Home

francis

Strangers Candy will release Marathon, the new LP from Swedish band Francis, on February 5. The warm “Follow Me Home” is excerpted here from Marathon and it succeeds on its subtly precise arranging and hook writing (the track grabs at you and pulls you to it nearly immediately but without any overt quality or hokey-ness) and it’s A+ lead vocal from singer Petra Mases. Listen below.

Aquilo – Never Seen You Get So Low

aquilo3

B3SCI Records alums Aquilo stream cinematic new ballad-y track “Never Seen You Get So Low” from forthcoming TBA album. The starry-eyed introspective song is as equally evocative of its subject matter/lyrical content (the guitar harmonics lilt, the slide work yearns) as it is just plainly beautiful. Look for Aquilo’s debut LP in 2016.

Alohaha – Welcome To Your New Life

alohaha

We dig the easy pace of the new tumbleweed pop track “Welcome To Your Life”, the debut song online from Alohaha aka producer Jake Sinclair and poet Lyndsay Thornton. A neat blend of country and western sounds, Wilco-esque fidelity, and touch of eclectic quality (into those Waikiki-ready bits of slide guitar), “Welcome To Your New Life” is a quite strong debut.

Lea Beiley x J. Roosevelt – Subtract & Divide

leabailey

This summer we featured LA-based producer J. Roosevelt for “When I Run Don’t Chase Me” a deeply seductive lightly-simmering jazz-tinged electro-instrumental track. We’re into J. Roosevelt’s latest collaboration with Cali singer-songwriter Lea Beiley called “Subtract & Divide” which caught our ears immediately with its profoundly vibrant synth-driven accents, drippy slow-cadence percussion and divine sweetly-uplifting moody-sentiment vocals. Kudu Blue – Fallin’ Away

kudublue2

Brighton band Kudu Blue return today with excellent sophomore track “Fallin’ Away”. The follow-up to great debut “Bones”, “Fallin’ Away” operates in a similar, high level vein; where a more progressive state-of-the-genre instrumental ably frames a melodically strong/very accessible pop/dance vocal. It’s a potent mix. Listen to “Fallin’ Away” below.

Yes You – Through Your Eyes (Feat. La Mar)

yesyou

Get into the syrupy-paced glimmer-y-vibe synth-tempered atmospheres and straight-shooting lustrously-cool sultry-sensed anthemic-vibe vocals on new indie pop dance wonder “Through Your Eyes” a superbly-sensitive sweet and catchy new collaboration between Brisbane dance/indie/r&b duo Yes You (Jono & Gav) and Sydney experimental duo LA MAR (Andrew Grant and Dylan Wright). We absolutely love Dylan Wright’s soft-luminous melodically-reverberant vocals and have both duos firmly placed on our list of artists to watch out for in the near future. Amazing song. J.Viewz & Milosh – Don’t Pull Away

jviewz

The wonderfully soulful “Don’t Pull Away” is a new collaboration between BK-based musician J. Viewz (part of his DNA Project) and Rhye’s Mike Milosh. “Don’t Pull Away” is simply a beautiful bit of modern songwriting, every piece of arrangement, each melodic phrase; truly not one passage of “Don’t Pull Away” doesn’t seem together into this most stunning whole (ahhhh, that final strings swell at 3:51, ahhhh). You just have to listen. Wow.

TENDER – Belong

tender

The spotless and sleek mod pop of “Belong” from UK act TENDER does ride with the current of trend of acts like Jungle, Honne, and even Glass Animals (three great bands) but no doubt sounds unique and new too. The “Wicked Game”-esque progression, the cinematic rhythm structures, it all feels very poignant (and excecuted/constructed in a way where it absolutely is).
