More like it. This Goldfrapp remix of Gaga’s “Judas” is at the very least less annoying than the original record.

Khaled hooks up a heater with a cast of usual Khaled suspects, Rozay Weezay and Drizzay. The beat is ace and is the definite highlight of the track.

Just beautiful! On “Northern Wind” City and Colour’s sound, a.k.a. Alexisonfire’s Dallas Green, reminds us in the best ways of some of our current favorite singer-songwriters. He’s got the soul of James Vincent McMorrow and the subtle quality of Benjamin Francis Leftwich but too he’s got his own unique melodic sense that is excellent. And no better is that melodic sense most realized than on the gorgeous “Northern Wind”.

Rick Ross may be a disgustingly overweight guy but the dude can pick beats, and his choice to go in on Trae tha Truth’s “Inkredible” is no exception. Jadakiss also features, chipping in with a nice set of on point bars. Trae is still tops on the track though, his hushed cold as hell flow wraps up the remixed track like a too tight Isotoner.

With iconic UK hits like “Let’s Dance to Joy Division” in their past, it’s almost hard to believe this is only the second Wombats album. Their cool melodies and humorous lyrics return, but the musical edges are smoother on the follow-up. “Schumacher the Champagne” is nothing like what you’d expect from them. The frenetic synth intro moves into a cool groove, sing-along choruses, a metal riff, and more. Definitely worth a listen, and it just might become a current fave for you. The entire album is one of my tops in 2011 so far.

Our favs, Scottish dreamrockers Glasvegas, flip the script on Giana Factoy’s “Rainbow Girl” from last year. Nice fact: Giana Factory’s singer Loui Foo is the sister of The Raveonettes Sharin Foo, which is cool because this refashioning of the track is totally Raves, especially latter day Raves, or is it Glasvegas are totally Raves? Don’t ask us to decide. Peep the track below via RCRD LBL

A mix of so many diffuse yet complimentary sounds and influences, “Last Name London” might be Theo London’s best song yet. The background chants in the chorus are ace as hell. This is the real one. London’s upcoming Timez Are Weird These Days is due July 19.
