“Teenage Miracle” was premiered by world renowned DJ Zane Lowe on Beats 1 via Apple Music. The track is in line with their immensity-evoking band name, TOWER’s brand of towering, riff-laden guitar work mixed with a heavy dose of infectious pop songwriting and a boyish exuberance has been in the works since members Derek and Darin met in high school (their first show was opening for a System of a Down/Incubus cover band in a backyard in Newbury Park, CA). Over time, their love for sophisticated riffs and melodies met with more eclectic and production-oriented pop and hip hop sensibilities, as well as the subconscious influence of their relatively removed surroundings in the Californian valley.
“Teenage Miracle” charges straight out of the gate with soaring riffs, fuzz-addled bass, crashing drums and infectious melody that delivers hook after hook. The band states that it “is a song about Derek’s stepbrother who discovered pot and his desire to become a famous rapper in the same weekend. We remembered having that naive state of mind where you can get way ahead of yourself.”
In under 7 minutes in total, ‘Teenage Miracle’ along with ‘Can’t Vibe’ manages to make an introduction that heralds both an exciting new act and leaves a lasting taste for more.
