Fickle Friends and producer Mike Crossey (The 1975, Foals, Two Door Cinema Club) have found a flawless formula for “Brooklyn,” the third single by the UK five-piece. Together again, the London dance-quintet and the producer merge the dazzling vocals and sparkling brand of songwriting with Crossey’s award-winning, meticulously-polished mix.
The song pulls from the apprehension that front woman Natti Shiner experienced during the time period when the song was recorded. “Lyrically it reflects that summer and how I started dealing with my anxiety and constant worry that just seemed to follow me around,” Shiner explains. “The whole song is metaphorical and kind of talks about anxiety as someone you don’t understand or recognize.”
