Ushering in the second chapter of his audacious sonic adventures, enigmatic newcomer NANCY shares dreamy, psych-thriller “When I’m With You (I Feel Love),” out 4th September.
Bursting onto the indie landscape with acclaimed debut EP Mysterious Visions (released via B3SCI/Cannibal Hymns) in 2018, the post-punk expert’s rise has been astonishing, with glittering praise throughout the online community (Stereogum, NME, DIY) and a slew of support across the BBC Radio 1 (Annie Mac, Huw Stephens, Jack Saunders) and BBC 6 Music (Iggy Pop, Lauren Laverne, Steve Lamacq) airwaves adding to the aura surrounding the mysterious figure.
With much inspiration taken from his upbringing in North East England, where his own eccentricity helped develop a long-held obsession with pop music as a form of escapism, the innovative character’s latest effort continues to challenge boundaries, mixing soulful vocals, lyrical wit and fuzzy riffage to perfection in a unique blend of psychedelia only NANCY could produce.
Discussing his inimitable offering, NANCY revealed: “When I’m With You (I Feel Love) is another swirling head rush, a shot of adrenaline, an oscillating distorted cacophony of noise and melody. Pop meets strange through a blender and put back together in my own way. This is my love letter to the people I meet in my dreams at night”.
Accompanied with a cover version of Nat King Cole’s timeless classic Unforgettable, NANCY’s When I’m With You (I Feel Love) is released 4th September via B3SCI Records (as part of a double A-side) and will be available on all digital platforms.
