Evalyn’s I Love You, Keep Going pt. I EP previews a new full-length album slated for late 2021. The title is a mantra that Evalyn wrote to herself in a journal every day for the last five years. “It was a phrase that truly kept me going through my good days and the worst ones,” she says, “the words meant so much to me, and I wanted to give them back to the world, and anyone else who might need them.” The songs in the release were written in the midst of dealing with an anxiety disorder, which is when Evalyn began seeking holistic and alternative solutions to her mental health struggles, such as meditation, hypnotherapy, acupuncture, naturopathy, yoga and most prominently sound healing. These themes are present throughout I Love You, Keep Going, and the result is a body of work dedicated to healing, forgiveness and mindfulness. She wrote the lead single “Sun In Your Eyes” in a sunlit home studio with Sean Fischer of French Braids as they played the piano and drank coffee in the backyard. “We wrote it about the feeling of not knowing how good life is when you’re in the middle of it – of trying not to take it all for granted,” she says.
