L.A. crew Mexico City Blondes ready release of new EP with spacious pop first stream “First Cut”. Pairing a charismatic melodic line with space-building electronics and wide frame-setting drums, “First Cut” succeeds in the easy immediacy of its tune while maintaining a certain sweep and cache in its instrumental. We’re into it.

Jam out with B3 artist-go-to RAC on a superbly wrought 80’s-vibe-tinged synth-led gem twist of “Restless” which is the first single from New Order’s upcoming album Music Complete that is out via Mute on September 25th. RAC’s new remix is taken from the “Restless: single package that is also out on Mute October 9th. Awesome song. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

We adore the soulfully upbeat spicy-sweet vocals of “Running” a sensationally-spirited club-ready tropics-inspired melodic-house original track from Chicago producer fave Autograf who surprisingly only has one other original track out called “Dream” (which was mixed by B3-fave Pat Lok). We like the mixed-media pop-art project that serves as the artwork for the song. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

B3 fave Oakland five-member indie pop band Astronauts, etc. (which is led by frontman vocalist Anthony Ferraro) team up with pal Toro Y Moi for a stellar-sound guitar-riffing 70’s lounge-funk-inspired cover of “Rocket Man” which we especially appreciate for its scintillating uplifting-vibe keyboard melody. The Elton cover follows Astronauts, etc.’s soulful emotive-approached “Shake it Loose”, the fourth track to stream off their upcoming debut full-length album Mind Out Wandering which is streaming now (and is awesome) on Hype Machine and hits stores officially on September 18th. Lyrical bars, precise clean flows, and a fresh modern-sounding minimalist beats is a hip-hop formula that when executed well is a style we’re always going to have time for. Brooklyn emcee Stro takes some shots at the state of rap in 2015 on excellent new one “Skrrr” produced by Platinum Pat.

Columbus-based Saintseneca recently wowed us with their divinely-ethereal slightly-punk vibe vocal-duet and gentle-to-the-touch indie lo-fi atmospherics on “Sleeper Hold” the duo’s first single to release off their third album Such Things (available via Anti Records on October 9th). We also recommend the jangly-guitar-centered Such Things second-single, “River”, which we really like (on repeat) for its folk-inspired indie-hazy melodic vocals and ethereal folksy-artsy acoustic guitar vibes that beautifully transform the end of the song into something quite divine.
