‘Yonce comes with the predictable, hip-hop linkbait, “elevator incident”-referencing new remix to her hit “Flawless”. The remix’s feature artist Nicki Minaj is the track’s clear victor as the young Ms. Miraj puts down an immediate set of some of her best bars to date. Beyonce and Nicki Minaj, google’em.

Internet lightning rod Trinidad Jame$ is no longer a component of the roster of Def Jam. Jame$, who signed a reported $2 million deal w/ the label in 2012, released the decidedly contemplative “Doin’ Me” shortly after announcing the Def Jam departure over the weekend. We like it.

Irish band Cloud Castle Lake merge the cinematic quality and musically adventurous arrangements of Sigur Ros and Radiohead (stick with us) with modern indie and excellent melodic writing on “Sync”. Well done. “Sync” is part of Cloud Castle Lake’s “Dandelion” EP, out September 22 on Happy Valley Records.

“Self Control” is the return single for Swedish band KATE BOY. The creatively-engineered rhythm-heavy “Self Control” is an A+ bit of 2014 dark pop. KATE BOY’s self-titled debut LP is due later this year on Fiction Records.

LANY – the new LA by wy of Nashville trio that has the ear of almost every music exec on the west coast, has taken the blog world by storm. “ILYSB” (standing for I love You So Bad) has that neo-soul/R&B sound that Chet Faker has brought from down under, but with a sunny LA flip. Also, check out the group’s other single “BRB”. There just might be some big things ahead from this group so get familiar. By Brian Litwin

Synth duo Carousel strap some dancing shoes on to “East Of Eden”, the latest single from Zella Day. The track showcases the Zella vocal nicely atop a disco friendly blend of Carousels’ signature keys. We’ve got it on repeat and feel like heading back to the future with this new 80s tinted jam, but not before we jump back on the dance floor.
