P A N E S – Choice Errors

P A N E S

We’re digging the dark modern pop of UK newcomers P A N E S’ “Choice Errors”. The nods to current R&B, hip hop, UK bass music are obvious on “Choice Errors” (and part of the track’s appeal) but their subtle and spun into the track as components of a whole sound palette rather than “modern music checklist boxes” to tick.

Gentlemen Hall have hit the road with 90s alt-gods Third Eye Blind in support of their new single “All Our Love”. And if their single, nor their popular cover version Kendrick Lamar’s “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe” has yet to catch your attention, then we’re sure their flute wielding rock live set definitely will. Bo Saris – Little Bit More

bo saris

The Bo Saris train kept a rollin’ w/ new track “Little Bit More”. Stylistically, “Little Bit More” falls in a lane with the sort of new school blue-eyed soul espoused by artists like Mayer Hawthorne or Fitz and the Tantrums. Driven by hooky percussive piano and Saris’ all guts tenor, “Little Bit More” is soulful and pleasantly nostalgic without being silly or pastiche. Bo Saris’ “The Addict” EP is out now on Deram/Universal.

Boreta – Honey Heart

boreta - honey heart

More than just a new track, “Honey Heart” comes to us today from Justin Boreta of famed EDM group Glitch Mob — serving a specific message for the masses. The song is a Soma x Charity: water exclusive, and completely unique in that Boreta pulled cues of vocal samplings and beats amongst locals, school children and sounds of nature while on a journey to Ethiopia this past spring. Along with Soma Co-Founder Mike Del Ponte, they chronicled the tribulations of the basic necessity for clean drinking water in impoverished nations (have a look at the video below). “Honey Heart” was thus born, the track itself reflects a progressive statement for the EDM mainstream counterculture, world-music tones soar throughout the track’s universal language of contemporary dance music. “Honey Heart” was released today via Soma and for every download of this track, Glitch Mob will donate 50% of proceeds to help build a water well in Cambodia through this partnership with charity: water and Soma. Please support the cause and purchase “Honey Heart” here.

Red Mystery – Jetlands (Alex Brandt Remix)

alex brandt

We likey. Your principals here are German producer Alex Brandt and Red Mystery’s oft-remixed (but not quite like this or this neatly) “Jetlands”. The syncopations in the rhythm track that reveal themselves when the horn line drops in ~2:35 are next level.

Metabeats ft. Action Bronson – Hookers (VIP Remix)

hookers VIP

Metabeats collab w/ Action Bronson from last year “Hookers”, gets a “cocaine on the marble floors” 80’s-leaning “VIP” remix from one Metabeats himself. Too cool.
