OK, so we did some digging and found another track from the inscrutable Al Bizzare. Maybe it really is Skrillex or maybe it’s David Guetta but it’s most likely it’s just these two relatively unknown Russian dudes. That said, “Fire Breazze” is great and definitely deserves some shine, so here comes.

Annie Mac debuted it on her Friday night BBC program and now b3sci bring you the North American premiere of Leo Zero’s new remix for Bombay Bicycle Club. Mr. Zero levels up the kick, adds a cool new kinetic bassline, and tops it off with some sweet synth and dub guitar flourishes. Yeah this rips. Bummer High are a band from Vancouver that are into old country, Spacemen 3, and newer bands like Demon Claws. The sound on “Old Chief” reminds a bit of The Gun Club. Yep, they’re that legit.

Gross bro! “Waiting For You” is the latest from Brighton UK’s Sam McGarrigle a/k/a Gross Magic. The song is built around tightly processed electro drums and a simple four-note synth pattern (We’ll see if you can figure what one) and sounds a bit of “I Wish It Was Christmas Today”. What a genius! Has there ever been more of a musical chameleon than Don Van Vliet? Well, maybe his longtime frenemy, Frank Zappa, which almost could’ve been the Lennon/McCartney of weird. I’m Glad proves that 60’s psychedelic rock never forsook the innocence of the first half of the decade. Rich production juxtaposed with economic instrumentation allows Vliet’s emotionally naked vocal to shine. Every listen of I’m Glad feels like the first time. When the forces of Mick Jagger, Damian Marley, Joss Stone, Dave Stewart & A.R. Rahman combine they sound like a reggae band? Not that we’re complaining – “Miracle Worker” jams as hard as it rocks. Gotta give it to the man, Jagger sounds great here, he sounds re-energized. So Jagger check, Damian Marley sounds dope as always, and eh there’s….Joss Stone, not sure why they let her in the band, she’s as hammy as ever on the track and without question sound tolerable only in harmony with the other voices.
