Lips is the byname of Kiwi by way of Brooklyn artist Steph Brown. “Everything to Me” succeeds on its beautiful carefully phrased melodies and expertly layered instrumental syncopation. Listening to the laid back track, you’ll likely find yourself at ease, cool, calm with the track; but there’s enough rhythm, enough movement in the track that you’ll probably also find yourself bobbing your head; the best sort of marriage for tunes of its style.

Foster the People tourmates Gardens & Villa’s self-titled debut drops TODAY on Secretly Canadian. The LP is jammed from pillar to post with hazy West Coast Brit-influenced heaters. “Cruise Ship” sounds somewhere between Oasis or Stereophonics (at their quieter more blues-ish moments) , Fleetwood Mac maybe, and 2011 indie rock. Get involved below.

Australian singer/songwriter Washington softly sings b3sci to sleep for the week with her excellent “Welcome Stranger”. On the track, a gently plucked guitar figure and swirling accordion frame Washington’s quiet paean to the emotional realities of life and love.
Washington – Welcome StrangerWe about flipped (overhead somersault) when we got Chicago artist ANOTHER’s “Since June” EP in our inbox today. The EP is one of the freshest blends of diverse yet complementary influences we’ve heard in a while. ANOTHER a.k.a. Douglas McGillivray calls the songs on “Since June” his “beach sound.” describing it as a “smooth blend of electronic beats, calm synths, some surf guitar, and intimate vocals”. On top all that it’s AWESOME! The songs are just demos, so they’re a bit rough. But the melodies/ideas/creativity all speak for themselves. You can stream/download the 6 track EP on McGillivray’s Soundcloud. The chugging, uke-driven “Helicopter” is our fav from the set but all six tracks are really really good. We can’t wait to hear what’s next.

Ooooh, we got a sick PREMIERE for y’all. You can stream on b3sci, “Center Stage” from LA duo Capital Cities; one of the most buzzed about bands anywhere right now. That’s some VIP treatment right there. The track is a nice blend of electro and pop and more modern ______wave influences; somewhere between Chromeo and Holy Ghost! We are into it!

Not another acoustic cover of “No Diggity”? You’re prob thinking, “b3sci, what y’all doing to us?”. Right. But get this, so there are hundreds, thousands, probably millions of campfire heater versions of the Blackstreet classic but Graffiti6’s might be the best. Give this version, from the London-based duo’s “Annie You Save Me” EP, a spin and you’ll see what we mean. No Diggity. No Doubt.
