Wax Witches – Habit

waxwitches

Get into the vigorously delivered, hazy lo-fi punk-edge garage rock vibes of Brooklyn-based artist Wax Witches, who we covered here in regards to his 2014 Bootleg Bar performance in LA. We recommend Wax Witches’ latest track “Habit” for two minutes of intense screechy guitar-riff-dominated bliss. The riotous new tune is off his “Memory Painting” EP out via Burger Records on March 18th. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

Sensi Sye – No Doubt

sensisye2

This fall we got familiar with the distinct style of artist-talent Sensi Sye (a.k.a. Simon) and most recently featured his sparkling-delicate sweet-evocative effortless-natural hushed-hued enchanting-vibe percussion-permeated atmospheric remix of Mree track “Lift Me Up”. With that said, we are more than pleased to run across his latest trap-percussion-drenched falsetto-vocals-tinged ambient atmospheric melodic wonder “No Doubt”. Tune into its very excellent vocals. Eets – Flying High

eets2

B3 featured Alaskan beat-maker Eets, who we showcased last week for his awesome nuance-tempered track “Sudan”, turns in a terrific melodic hip-hop diddy named “Flying High”, a short and sweet track which features swooning strings and playful vocal atmospherics amidst Eets’ trademark sultry beats. “Flying High” is part of Eets’ new 8 track EP of beats that is set to release in April. Great tune. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

Reighnbeau – Falling

reighnbeau2

Albuquerque, NM electronic musician Bryce Fletcher, a.k.a Reighnbeau, who we premiered back in late July for his kaleidoscopic soft-touch rhythm-based electro track “Ghost” turns in new tune “Falling”. We adore the track’s mesmerizing blend of subtle scratchy atmospherics, dreamy melodic vocal touches and simmering range of effervescent beats and percussion. The very bright and lovely track “Falling” is out via Mind Rider Records. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

Ambassadeurs – Kava

ambassadeurs2

We last discussed London producer Ambassadeurs for his beautifully melodic, sublimely atmospheric C. Duncan-featuring Patterns EP gem track “Looking At You”. We really enjoy the track and are happy to hear that after the launch of a solid debut EP in 2015 (which includes B3 covered tracks “Crimson” and “Looking at You”) Ambassadeurs is back in the studio working on release number two. Meanwhile, Ambassadeurs (knowing how to stoke the fans with material in the interim between albums) creates a brief 4 track EP which he recorded with minimal sound equipment on an autumn trip to a remote country cottage. (He even gets creative and impressively uses samples from cassettes he found in the cottage.) Fit to please fans, the EP’s third track to release (called “Kava”) is a dance-leaning techno jam with a fine-tuned meld of bass accents and cheerful glittery synth grooves. The delightful and positive, mood-expansive “Kava” follows “Halos” and “Lotus” on the EP. Great stuff Ambassadeurs, we look forward to hearing the fourth track! Reviewed by Erin Shay.

TRUDY – Baby I’m Blue

trudy

New band out of Liverpool TRUDY impress with melodically sound and accessible guitar track “Baby I’m Blue”. A bit of a tempest in a tea cup instrumentally (chaotic clean guitars, weave in/out the tune’s dosed with whimsy vocal melody), “Baby I’m Blue” excels on its base of very strong pop writing. TRUDY are definitely a new band to keep your tabs on.

Tender – Afternoon

tender3

We’re amazed at the incredible run of great tunes in the past 6 months from the (very talented) newcomer London duo Tender; who we recently covered here for their superb cover of “Hotline Bling”. Tender (an artist from our list of B3SCI Best of 2015: Artists to Watch in 2016) continues their rising star trajectory with a new beauty track to start the year. A great reiteration that Tender is indeed on their way up in the music scene, the track, called “Afternoon”, aptly displays the pair’s signature charismatic energetics, rock solid vocals and entrancing moody-poetic vocals. We love it. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

Four Lore – Who Are Whe (Feat. STU)

fourlore2

In October we covered instrumental beauty track “Kafka” from Canadian producer/vocalist and self-professed beat-crusher Four Lore (who was new to B3 at the time). We also highly recommend Four Lore’s latest instrumental production “Who Are Whe”; a flute-tempered melodic-electro tune which he created along with French artist STU. We think Four Lore strikes a divine balance between rhythm and melody on “Who Are Whe” and we look forward to hearing more from him. Amazing. Reviewed by Erin Shay

KA-YU – Goddess

kayu

Familiarize yourself with new-to-B3 artist KA-YU (who hails from the Netherlands). KA-YU keeps it bright and simple with a soft sensual mesh of down-tempo beats, jazzy metallic accents and a sweet keyboard melody on “Goddess”. We totally love how the keyboard dictates the track’s cheery mood and how effectively it contrasts with KA-YU’s dynamic, super sexy bass-line. Great tune! Reviewed by Erin Shay.

Tune into the understated sensuality and dynamic meld of beats on new one “Say What” a restyle of Donell Jones’ hit “U Know What’s Up” from a relatively new Baltimore artist (swag-surf-gawd) j.robb who we featured in September for his joint-produced gem track “Euphoria” (created with Calgary-bred Canadian musician Skater for the duo’s debut EP “Pastel”). berhana3

Lose yourself in the smooth, soulful and funky Jamiroquai-meets Frank Ocean meets Miguel vocals-led vibes of “80’s” from B3 featured Berhana (discussed here in November for his A+ debut jam “Janet”). “80’s” (quite a timeless track with its impressive standout-talent vocals and artfully simplistic fine-tuned mosh of percussion) earns Berhana another A+ on the style meter. Flamingosis – Saturday Night Fever

flamingosis3

B3 2015-favorite production artist Flamingosis, who’s eclectic well-balanced blend of hip-hop, soul, jazz and funk first caught our attentions back in June, creates a light and vivacious lounge-y 70‘s/80‘s-vintage vibe ambiance on his new technicolor brass-tinged tune “Saturday Night Fever”; a superbly tantalizing, bright and lively funk-infused vocal-loop-enhanced instrumentals-led track which has us very much looking forward to Flamingosis’ much anticipated soon-to-release album.
