BAIO aka Vampire Weekend bassist Chris Baio is readying a remix release called “The Expansion Pack” for his September-released The Names record and a standout from the lot is this minimalist cinematographic mix from producer/artist Samuel Proffitt. Proffitt reduces down “Sister of Pearl” to its most fundamental rudiments, it’s melody and cadence and focuses them through a setting of spare piano and spacious instrumentation.
