Giveaway: Deap Vally @ The Troubadour in Los Angeles, CA. this Tuesday 8/13/13

deap-vally

Rock duo Lindsey Troy and Julie Edwards a/k/a Deap Vally will soon gig through their hometown of Los Angeles in support of their new debut album Sistrionix. The way we like to put it, their sound traverses a familiar territory of high intensity vocals and riffs that at times sounds like “The Female White Stripes” and at others like all hell is breaking loose. These ladies have been making noise touring recently with the likes of Queens of the Stone Age and have also been catching ears at major festivals like Glastonbury and Lollapalooza to name a few. This homecoming gig at the world famous Troubadour next Tuesday, August 13th is not to be missed.

B3SCI will be giving away a pair of tickets to this coveted show to one lucky reader! To win just email us here and let us know you’d like to be entered in the Deap Vally ticket drawing. Our winner will be picked at random from the pool of submissions by Sunday 8/11, so keep an eye on your inbox (one entry per person). You can get additional details for the show, as well as purchase tickets for the show here. Good luck!

Deap Vally – Lies

The duo of Lindsey Troy and Julie Edwards a/k/a Deap Valley are releasing their debut EP “Get Deap” in April via Cherrytree. “Lies’, the first single for the project, sees the L.A.-based band (and truly, could a band like Deap Valley come from anywhere else?) traverse a familiar territory of high intensity of vocals and riffs that at times sounds like “The Female White Stripes” and at others like all hell is breaking loose. “Lies” is sure to give you its intended ass-kicking but also is hooky enough to keep things interesting and re-listenable.

Deap Vally – End of the World

deap-vally

Deap Valley spells trouble for your blog. This girl-girl duo pack all the right ingredients to that potential buzz band stew; relevance (they sound enough like the Keys, Sleigh Bells, Alabama Shakers and whoever else to easily enter the dialogue) solid song (there’s enough here song styling-wise to actually enjoy), soulful vox (there’s plenty of feel and swagger in the vocal) and punch (enough to fuel any buzz rebellion). And did we mention? The band is two girls. So if A-squared + B squared = C squared then you should look for these ladies on Saturday Night Live by sometime late next year. (p.s. they’re really fuckin’ good.)
