Mike of B3SCI and I hit this month’s Kasabian show at LA’s Wiltern. The band blew everyone away with their usual precision and intensity. I hung with producer/creative force Serge and lead singer Tom of Kasabian at their LA hotel bar the next week when the band were back in town for their appearance on Jimmy Kimmel. We covered much, including industry trends, their plans for America, Serge as band producer, and of course their music. Interesting fact: both Serge and Tom loved Michael Jackson’s Bad album in their very young years.

“Bloodlust”, which follows the all B3 rec’d tracks “Sleep Forever”, “Teenager”, and “The Taste”, is the fourth and final song to be revealed on Brighton buzz band Black Honey’s untitled debut EP. Elastica and PJ Harvey are a few of the relevant references on the 90’s arty but accessible sound of “Bloodlust”. Black Honey play the Notting Hill Arts Club in London on November 2.

Nobody beats Sammis. The former NBHD drummer and tallier of three Hypem Top 5’s since May has emerged as one of the blogworld best and most consistent new artists. The 80’s-shine of “Freak” is the lead and title track from Olivver’s forthcoming debut EP out October 28th.
UK R&B artist Liv follows up the great “Come a Little Closer” from earlier this month with the more straightforward soul of “Special”. Framed by low touch guitar strums and a crossover R&B-friendly rhythm track, “Special” succeeds on its believability and soul-soothing melodic quality.
Misun announce today the release of debut album with new track “Superstitions”. The L.A. via D.C. band’s consistently varied and consistently strong songwriting stars on “Superstitions”, as arpeggiated synths and a sturdy hip hop kick/snare provide a perfect matrix for Misun Wojick’s free-flowing melodically excellent vocal. Superstitions is out November 11th.
“Hypnotic” follows “Sweet Ophelia”, “East of Eden”, and “Compass” as the fourth and final single/track from Arizona-born Zella Day’s self-titled debut EP. We’re pleased to announce today the release of Zella’s EP on B3SCI Records. You can order the EP here or on iTunes.
