B3SCI is very pleased to premiere a new radio edit of “Words” from Rasmus Littauer aka drummer for MØ aka School of X. “Words”, the track is a tremendously accomplished bit of pop production and songwriting, carefully connecting several eras and styles of pop and alternative pop into a cool cohesive, very listenable track. About “Words”, Rasmus says, “My songs are usually about a state of mind. It’s rarely a narrative. “Words” is kind of a combination of these to. It’s about fiercely wanting something but at the same time not being able to let go of what you already have. NO-NZ duo Anna of the North announce debut LP with stream of title track “Lovers”. “Lovers” for all it’s vibe-y/trendy production nods is subtly and really supremely anthemic and catchy (that “show a little loving / shine a little light on” melodic bit is as good as just about anything else out right now). Lovers is out September 8 on Different Recordings.
After a three year hiatus, Lorde is officially back with a newer, more refined sound. Adding to that new sound is Chromeo who remixed Green Light, adding super-sized synths and a funky vibe to the pop track. The vet duo transformed the pop anthem into something more downtempo and smooth, and I’m vibing with it.
Norwegian producer Jakob Ogawa and Boston artist Clairo telegram in from farthest off deep space (we’re the pop especially dreamy and heart-dinging) on the very very good “You Might Be Sleeping”. Look for Jakob Ogawa’s debut Bedroom Tapes EP out June 16th.
