Australian pair North Elements and Wayfarer collaborate on new track “Break” with Denitia (from “Divided” duo Denitia and Sene). The producing team select for a warm pads of deep in the mix synths as the frame for Denitia’s quieting but no less potent vocal. Spin “Break” below.
The Pith Boys are back with a fresh new track and a slew of December East Coast dates. The new song comes in the form of “Medusa” which is yet another unexpected sound swerve from the DET duo. Featuring tremolo acoustic guitar and that Ty Dolla $ piano pad (pamp pamp pamp) GP ably wrap up the stylistic disparate-ness with a cool melodic groove that we’re into. Pith are working on new tracks at the abandoned church/recording space Assemble in Detroit (where other D artists like JMSN and Danny Brown chill) and are keen to release more music in the new year. Miami’s MRKI sports a sound similar to two of my favorite contemporary female vocalists, Phantogram and Purity Ring. If you’re into their edgy indie pop style you’ll definitely dig this artist’s latest tune “Weird Nights.” Stream it here and enjoy.
“Easily” is the latest from North London new favorite Bruno Major. The ease melodically with which Major operates through a comparatively difficult narrative of a relationship evolving beyond its earliest phases; creates a particularly potent juxtaposition we dig.
London-based singer Lyves a/k/a Francesca Bergami will release new EP “Like Water” early next year. The Atu-produced neo-neo-R&B of “No Love” is the EP’s first stream and it is something like perfection. Wow.
“Maybe Baby” is the latest example in a string of poignant, visceral, dark pop songs from Southampton UK singer Laurel. Armed with a powerfully immediate voice and a to the point melodic calculus, Laurel’s potent pop sustains with “Maybe Baby” is impressive run against the grain of the current pop milieu. A++
“Life With Lobsters” the new 4-track EP from Josh Ocean-helmed L.A. collective NVDES is out now on our B3SCI Records. The EP features lauded first two singles (Zane Lowe, John Kennedy, etc) “8AM” and the Oliver Tree-featuring “My Mind Is” and brand new streams “I Want To Make Out At The Gay Club” and “I Give Up, I Need Your Love” (both featured below).
