Nehzuil – Back To Cali (Feat. Milan)

nehzuli

We’re into the playful 80’s-lux downtempo atmospheres and seductive Janet-vibe vocals on “Back To “Cali” a synth-dazzled melodic-toned new one from Sydney producer Nehzuil which features the catchy vocals of Sydney songstress-guitarist-producer Milan. “Back To Cali” is the third track to release off Nehzuil’s new one-track-a-week series. Twinkids – Dreamer

twinkids

Get familiar with the gleaming synth-spun sound and immensely-fresh poetic-romancey straightforward-sexy vocals of TWINKIDS an Oberlin-bred LA-based laptop-pop duo who recently released their career debut track “Dreamer” which is out on LA label CSCN, the new singles label of faves Cascine. We’re impressed immensely with the duo and are psyched for their full length project slated to be out soon. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

Niteppl – Whispers

niteppl

San Fransicso indie-dance/pop/disco producer duo Niteppl (Alton and Saywer) recently released their second EP named “Nu Flesh”. We particularly appreciate the EP’s second track “Whispers” for its sunny-day dreamy-hazy melodic-calm vocals and new-wave-vibe 80’s-sentiment cinematic synth-y ooze. The guys liken themselves to “The Beach Boys meets Justice” and we concur. Great track. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

Zak Abel – Say Sumthin

zakabel

In February B3 covered top-talent singer-songwriter Zak Abel for his refreshingly-soulful Rudimental-esque Joker-produced debut-EP track called “Alchemy”. We’re completely into his vocals yet again on new track “Say Sumthin” which is Zak Abel’s newest Kaytranada-produced creation which (in our eyes) beautifully expresses his catchy songwriting appeal and rising-star-potential cheery sugary-sweet melodic Rudimental-esque style vocals. Of course we also love the retro-vibe synth-y emotive strings-led ethereal-ambient instrumental handiwork of B3 fave producer Kaytranada. Great collaboration. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

Awir Leon – Wood

awirleon

We just discovered the sweet-nuance new-wave vibes of a song called “Wood” from Amsterdam producer (new-to-B3) Awir Leon which is #4 off the Nowadays-Jayfly tape. We’re totally into the track’s incredible mangle of moody atmospheric synth tones and superb emotive-broody vocals (which remind of David Byrne). Reviewed by Erin Shay.

LP – Muddy Waters

LP

New tomorrow on Vagrant Records is “Muddy Waters” the return single from L.A. singer LP. Built on a spirituals/chain gang groove and a simple downbeat-clap rhythm structure “Muddy Waters” is a visceral gut-punch both lyrically and sound-wise and is a variety of modern/primitive pop juxtaposition that we love. Give “Muddy Waters” a spin below.

Midnight to Monaco – Suicide (Jerome LOL Dub)

midnighttomonaco

We recently fell for the sweetly flippant dark-poppy attitude of “Suicide” the bold and immensely catchy brilliantly cheerful (a surprise in light of the name) recent debut single from artist duo Midnight to Monaco (Canadian singer Ricky Ducati and LA-based producer Donnie Sloan). We also appreciate the totally incredible moody-sensuous synth-led instrumental remix of “Suicide” from LA producer Jerome LOL; who we think beyond excels for his heavily-stylized spaced-out natural-percussion-touched melodic-cosmic atmospherics and well-chosen selection of peppy-toned ambient-vibe background vocals. Great remix! Reviewed by Erin Shay.
