True Noir – Creation

truenoir

Brighton male-female duo True Noir capture our utmost attention with their lightly-treading sense-saturating charmer melody on “Creation” a lovely slightly-hazy golden-edged guitar-tinged ethereal beauty which is richly-laden with the sort of profound emotive power that makes it a potent candidate for a movie soundtrack. Excellent dynamic! Reviewed by Erin Shay.

Rhodes & Birdy – Let It All Go

rhodes

Earlier this year B3 covered the impeccable modern pop style of UK singer-songwriter RHODES on “Turning Back Around” the excellent single from his debut “Wishes” EP which is out on September 18th. We like RHODES’ latest (totally breathtaking) installment from the EP called “Let It All Go” on which RHODES joins forces with remix-darling BIRDY. Recently premiered as Huw Stephens’ Hottest Record on BBC Radio 1 new track “Let It All Go” is a quietly-enamoring standout-timeless pop-ballad which deeply and artfully showcases a beautifully-simple soft-percolating raw-emotion chaotic-harmonic male-female artistic cohesion that might just land the track on some singer-songwriter best-of-lists for 2015. Take respite in freshly-spun vintage-inspired sonics of the delectably danceable dream-pop atmospherics, harmonic-repetitive melody-laced vocals and trippy-fantastical synth-driven disco-tinged trimmings of new track “Never Gonna Take You Back” from LA multi-instrumentalist duo Satchmode off their upcoming August-release “Afterglow” EP (which features the mixing skills of Grammy Award-winning sound engineer Robert Orton). Berkshire UK native Woodson Black a/k/a Haux channels pinpoint modern pop songwriting (think Ben Leftwich or Aquilo) through the frame of sweeping and stunning electronic instrumentation. Vindata – Wide Awake (Feat. Kenzie May)

vindata

We like the positively electric vocals of London songstress Kenzie May on “Wide Awake” the new Vindata track which artfully celebrates a particularly bright and bouncy atmospheric and warmly tantalizing chime-toned background melody. B3 recently covered the LA electro duo for their breathtaking Mack-sampling Bjork-style-vocal-ed gem “Getting Away”. Both tracks are a lead in to Vindata’s forthcoming “Through Time And Space” EP, which is out via OWSLA on August 14th. We look forward to it. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

SALES – Big Sis

sales

Floridian male-female lo-fi indie-pop/shoegaze duo SALES (a.k.a. Lauren Morgan and Jordan Shih) turn in a warmly-emanating sublimely-minimalist mellow-vibed guitar-laced new one called “Big Sis” which excels for its beautifully languid sub-tropic pace and subtly-emotive soft-luminescent hazed-out (reverb-y) vocal style. “Big Sis” is an excellent follow up to SALES’s debut eponymous EP and is the second track featured here on B3 after the very excellent Broken Social Scene-vibing track “Vow”. We are totally into SALES and look forward to hearing more from this talented duo. Reviewed by Erin Shay

Go wild with B3’s LA-fave vōx on her new sweetly stunning sugar-layered strings-enhanced vocal-stunner “Claws” which emanates a distinct sense of beauty with its tantalizing melody; mute-silent, foggy-edged, synth accents; and decadent, soothing-vibe, Japanese-aesthetic whispers of harp.
