Axel Flóvent – Dancers

Axel Promo

Icelandic songwriter Axel Flóvent follows up his Hypem Top 10 track “Forest Fires” with piano-driven new one “Dancers”. Flóvent’s easy to harmony tenor is the spark of “Dancers”, as the young Trellis Records signee vocal oscillates steadily within a pretty frame of spacious acoustics and tight fidelity drums. Axel Flóvent’s “Forest Fires” EP is out May 25th on Trellis Records.

Indigo Girls – Happy in the Sorrow Key

indigogirls

Get caught up in the big guitar-riffs, absorbing vocal hook, and sugary-sweet hum of the strings on new track “Happy in the Sorrow Key” which is the new first single off upcoming album, One Lost Day, from American legend act, Indigo Girls, the female folk-rock musical duo who are best known for their loaded lyrics and classic acoustic-guitar driven music from the 80’s and 90’s. Oh Wonder – Livewire

ohwonderlivewire

Oh Wonder continue an incredible run of amazing soul-filled music with the May installation of their project to release one track a month for a year; which has so far been a dynamite introduction to the duo’s music under their new name (previously Wonder Wonder) and a solid lead in to their debut album which is out in September. P.M. Buys – All the Hidden Bobby Pins

pmbuys

Chicago-based Peter Buys (aka P.M. Buys) brings a depth to solo folk songwriting that is not found a lot these days. Taking cues from the past (easy to go with Dylan), he creates a Midwestern dream-scape constructed first of plucking and strumming. P.M. will look to impress the masses on an upcoming tour of the Midwest and Mountain West with The Way Down Wanders. Check out highlights from new “Atop the Salt” EP; “All the Hidden Bobby Pins”, “Presidents” and “Jester and the Queen”. Reviewed by Tony Perkis.

Miya Folick – I Got Drunk

miyafrolick

L.A.-based songwriter Miya Folick releases honest rhythm-driven second track “I Got Drunk”. The song’s percussive base (with the drum track, repeated vocal loops, and chugging guitars) is the visceral terra firma for “I Got Drunk”s open, genuine lyrical content; “How am I supposed to hold in words need saying, etc”.

Alex Burey – Come Over

Alex Burey_new_sml

The sweeping “Come Over” is the latest from UK songwriter Alex Burey. The spacious heart-wringing track, somewhere between the mood of Pink Floyd’s “Us and Them” and the more delicate moments of Scott Walker’s discography, is the lead song from Burey’s upcoming EP, “Family Stone”, out June 13th.
