Giveaway: George Maple @ Lyric Theater, Los Angeles 03/14

georgemaple

One of our favorite voices in the world, Aussie export George Maple plays The Lyric Theater in Los Angeles this Saturday, 03/14. Maple’s progressive mix of R&B, pop and state of the genre bass music reached a zenith late last year on the Future Classic release “Talk Talk”. If you want to be at the Lyric on Saturday for Ms. Maple, B3 is giving away a pair of passes to one very fortunate reader. To enter email us by 2 PM Pacific on Thursday (03/12). Details and ticket purchase information on the George Maple gig at The Lyric can be found here.

Beauville – Letting In

beauville

“Letting In” is the online debut of Beauville, the project of L.A. resident via Maryland Josh Bovill. “Letting In” as a song is remarkable and very impressive; neat instrumentation and use of harmony that frame an emotionally precise stable of really strong melodic phrases. A++.

A.Chal – Gazi

achal

The slow-mo mod-R&B of “Gazi” is the first new track in two years for NY/LA-based A.Chal. On the track, a steadying kick drum and on-the-downbeats piano stabs provide the frame for “Gazi”‘s hypnotic and potent melodic flow.

Leon Bridges – Lisa Sawyer

leonbridges2

There is nothing we don’t love about “Lisa Sawyer”, the new one from DFW’s Leon Bridges. Romantic doo-wop-ref’ing harmony and instrrumentation done in a way that is both very affecting and comes off with a fresh feel that makes Bridges’ emotional communication in the track so much more real.
