Jimi Charles Moody – Blue Honey

Screen Shot 2015-04-24 at 14.55.31

The anthemic blue-eyed soul-y “Blue Honey” is the debut track from Londoner Jimi Charles Moody. Reminding a bit melodically in the verse of All Saints’ #1 “Never Ever”, “Blue Honey” is ebbs and soars through a tuneful set of organ-backed UK soul for the sum of its 3:18 duration.

Gallant – Talking In Your Sleep

Processed with VSCOcam with hb2 preset

The recent signee to ZHU label Mind of Genius, Gallant debuts the stunning and innovative new track “Talking In Your Sleep”. The new song continues a new trend in Gallant’s music toward production and melodic choices at uppermost margins of the R&B idiom. Bored with “nu-R&B”? Give “Talking In Your Sleep” a try.

Ta-Ku – Love Again (Feat. JMSN & Sango)

taku

Ta-Ku, the Australian Soulection affiliate who’s soulful late night R&B compositions have led to runaway success on Hypem and Soundcloud returns today with a bit of some support from two Michigan natives, JMSN & Sango. “Love Again” is really fantastic as Ta-Ku’s feel for track construction blends almost symbiotically with JMSN’s supremely melodic vocal; it’s as if Ta-Ku is conducting the vocal and each of its subtle dynamic movements live inside each play of the recording. Really great.

Overjoy – Like a Wave

overjoy

“Like a Wave” is new from Dim Mak artist Overjoy. Sleek in its construction and subtle in its melodic quality, “Like a Wave” is, despite its semi-corny lyrical content (“ride you like a wave??”) an A+ exercise dark electronic pop.
