Chicago’s American Wolf is spelling seasons with their latest brand of indie hypnosis. Lead singer Sal Plant’s vocals soar tragically through Chicago’s crisp autumn air, and dreamlike guitar melodies melt between lead guitarist Hristo Mintchev’s fingers like candle wax. Give “May” a listen! American Wolf’s My Main Sport is out now. Reviewed by Shane Bradley

“There’s No Love” is the new single from French Express resident space traveler Moon Boots. Infectious and very much in the style that Moon Boots has seemed to fashion and carve out for himself, this house track will no doubt be included into playlists around the world. “Blame” is UK artist Tropics debut track for Innovative Leisure (Rhye, Badbadnotgood). “Blame” is simply stunning. The track realizes much of the potential promised in Tropics’ earlier more free-flowing and obtuse work as “Blame”s improved qualities mark it as the focused sound of an artist just entering his prime. Rapture is the forthcoming album from Tropics and its out February 17th.

Los Angeles-based alt-shoegaze rockers Draag have managed to gain some traction in their local scene despite being in their relative infancy.
The band was started in the fall of 2013 as the solo recording project of Adrian Acosta (guitar, programs, vocals) who would go on to recruit the rest of the band mid-way through the process. With Jessica Huang (guitar, keys, and vocals), Adrian De La Cruz (guitar), Carlos Michel (bass, sampler) and Danny Rossi (drums) in the fold, the quintet create eclectic, ambient dream rock influenced by essential Creation Records artists (My Bloody Valentine, Primal Scream, The Jesus And Mary Chain), Aphex Twin and Fugazi.
Draag is getting ready to release the follow up to their self titled debut full length, which was dropped earlier this year. The first taste of their forthcoming EP is single “Lavender Hole” which was produced by fellow LA experimental rocker Jeff Byron, formerly of The Mae Shi’s.
“Lavender Hole” churns and rides a nostalgic fuzz rock wave as ethereal vocals call from a distance over the fray. Listen to the B3 Premiere of the latest from Draag below and be on the look out for more from the group coming soon. Reviewed by Michael Mehalick

Ca$h Out, the author of hip hop radio staple “Cashin’ Out”, is nearly unrecognizable on “Go Get That Dough”. Spacious and minimal in its instrumental and featuring Snoop Dogg Bro (who can still actually rap), “Go Get That Dough” is creative and progressive and interesting in ways that the monochromatic DJ Mustard-dominated rap radio isn’t.

Creature In The Woods is the project Tyler Morrisette. The Brooklyn-based Morrisette has just released his self titled EP and we must say that it is quite impressive. Mixing hip-hop, down tempo, and dance, Creature in the Woods mixes up an infectious sound and vibe. A standout track in the four song set is the borderline lounge-y, “Centuries” with its tight drums and hypnotic strummed chords. Listen/download here. Also, best name of the year has to go to “In My Spaceship”-featured artist Stan Ipcus. Reviewed by Brian Litwin.

“Smoke Bellow” is new from Detroit “cosmic trap” merchants Gosh Pith. “Smoke Bellow” casts an inventive mix of a Kaytranada/Sango aesthetic (particularly in the song’s chord progressions) and stop/start bits rhythm and vocal loops. A+

UK singer Tara Priya’s “One Foot Out” is a dynamic melange of Portishead-y mood, Morricone-esque instrumentals and (most importantly) at its center a very very good modern soul song. If you’re in London, catch Tara Priya at Birthdays in Dalston on the 24th.
