The blue-eyed soul of L.A. duo Electric Guest has us doing the mash potato, the alligator and the watusi all over b3sci HQ. If we were betting men (and a distingushed gentleman never tells) we’d say Electric Guest has the chops and positioning to have a big 2K12.

La Sera will release her new LP, Sees The Light, March 24th. “Please Be My Third Eye” is a guitar-driven ensemble of punk, fuzz, pop, and garage. Laden with a purposeful melody throughout, “Please Be My Third Eye” stands out among the masses of the surging indie/shoegaze/fuzzpop circus. La Sera is playing at the Echo in LA, Jan 12, so make sure to catch her live.

Charlie Yin, aka Giraffage, drops a stunna’ called “With You”. The mother nature sample may be an homage to Dan Snaith’s discography, or, equally as appetizing, the Donkey Kong Country Soundtrack. The SF based Giraffage is firing on all cylinders right now. Get it while it’s hot.

Ole Torjus, a beatmaker out of Norway, puts it on chill for y’all with this folktronica sort of track. The star of “AtBofaSH” is definitely the horn loops that seep into the track at about the 1:45 mark. A reference for Ole is maybe a more a Nordic-sounding Four Tet. Listen.

Dick Laurent Is Dead bring an interesting mix of nu-garage-influenced electro with “Colour In Your Hands”. The track has some neat electronics and cool rhythmic elements but what really caught us out was it’s super soulful melody. This is the sort of emotion-laid-bare, visceral melody that will grab you right away. Give it a spin.
