Here goes something new from Remix Artist Collective in support of NYC band Violens. The dark guitar pop of the original is traded in for that sweeter more chilled RAC-80’s sound.

Beyonce’s latest single gets some support from big bloke in London Jack Beats. Jack laces up a sharp 1-2 step (London speed it up) putting on a mix that’s sounds sort of like a marching band that’s had wayyyyy too much coffee (or drugs); basically excerpting the best parts of Bey’s original track and leaving much of the weaker rap-y shit that doesn’t work as well off the track. Listen.

Dirty Beaches is crazy. Dude is totally bonkers but our Mr. Beaches is also soulful as hell. That downbeat clap on “Lone Runner” is enough to get the congregation on their feet. Listen at the pulpit of Dirty Beaches.

Here goes some cool new West Coast shit. “What Goes Up” features Snoop and is signed off on by Dr. Dre (he executive produced). (Some serious West Coast royalty co-signing). “What Goes Up” has that sort of classic CA sound, that piano-driven cadillac bounce shit. How long before Jayceon starts beefing with this dude too.

Lianne La Havas is our favorite new singer. Lianne’s got in her singing just the right mixture of soul, taste, diction, restraint, and melody. That sort of appears-once-a-year mixture that makes her someone you need to keep an eye to. The soft “No Room For Doubt”, which features American blues singer Willy Mason, is a gorgeous track that perfectly introduces that stunning La Havas (hushed here) vocal talent. Spin this one.

If the excellent jagged “Young Lovers”, the latest single from Durham UK band The Castells, is any indication – we will be hearing a lot more from them in the very near future. Somebody get Zane Lowe this track!

b3sci grown and sexy we see you! There are so many bad, lousy, mediocre, terrible Marvin Gaye remixes. This is not one of them. Sooooo good. (AV)

“Glassdrops”, new from German artist Robot Koch, is a pulsing, haunting, beautiful piece of electronic music. “Glassdrops” is the sort of song that grabs you immediately, pulls at you relentlessly, and doesn’t let go long after it’s 3 minute duration. Repeat listening material for sure.
