Gross Magic – Waiting For You

grossmagic

Gross bro! “Waiting For You” is the latest from Brighton UK’s Sam McGarrigle a/k/a Gross Magic. The song is built around tightly processed electro drums and a simple four-note synth pattern (We’ll see if you can figure what one) and sounds a bit of “I Wish It Was Christmas Today”. See if you can sing it with us, “I Wish It Was Christmas Today. I Wish It Was Christmas Today. I Wish It Was Christmas Today. I Wish It Was Christmas Today.”

John Denver – Country Roads (Pretty Lights Remix)

johndenverkermit

John Denver was one of the original OGs. Here our fav Pretty Lights takes the legendary singer/songwriter’s “Country Roads” for a spin around 2011 electro. Not only can this West Virginia mountain momma do a little two step, she can wobble pretty dang well too. b3sci Mountaineers we want to see those hands in the air.

AIVA – Pink Moon (Nick Drake)

aiva1

AIVA, an artist out of D.C., delivers to you this striking cover of Nick Drake’s classic tune “Pink Moon”. Her take shifts the pensive acoustive shuffle of the original to a spacier, more expansive place. (think Moon Safari or Simple Things). Try out the track below and let us know what you think.

Al Bizzare – Fresh Scream vs The World

deadmau5-and-skrillex

UPDATE: OK, so one of our readers sent thru to us a bunch of killer unreleased promos (some of which we may run later today, get psyched.), and this particular one was mislabeled? It may not be the collaboration we were led to believe it was Deadmau5 and/or Skrillex or not, the jam still knocks pretty hard. See if you can connect some of the dots in this mystery. WHO IS AL BIZZARE???

RE:Yes this is what you think it is. Not much else to say except shit is about to get intense.. Shouts to Pontus!

SuperHeavy – Miracle Worker

superheavy

When the forces of Mick Jagger, Damian Marley, Joss Stone, Dave Stewart & A.R. Rahman combine they sound like a reggae band? Not that we’re complaining – “Miracle Worker” jams as hard as it rocks. Gotta give it to the man, Jagger sounds great here, he sounds re-energized. So Jagger check, Damian Marley sounds dope as always, and eh there’s….Joss Stone, not sure why they let her in the band, she’s as hammy as ever on the track and without question sound tolerable only in harmony with the other voices.

Delilah – Go

delilah

Delilah first caught our attention with her lights out vocal on the “Time” record she did with Chase & Status. Next followed the breathtaking “Breathe”. (seriously, listen to this girl sing. crazy.) Offered up now is the track for “Go” which is a collaboration with East London production duo Balistiq. “Go” is another strong track, stylistically between “Time” and “Breathe”, “Go” lives sonically somewhere between dub, trip-hop, garage, and harder electro. If that sounds like a stew you’d like to sample, then check on the track below.

Bago – Bad On the Bottle (Prod. Alexander Spit)

bago

When we first heard “Bad On the Bottle”, we thought, oh no here we go again! Bago must be yet another pseudonym for James Blake – given the track’s Winehouse-esque vocals and future garage sound. But actually…Bago is a super talented artist out of LA. NOT James Blake.
