straight from the tracks of damon albarn’s studio 13, the horrors new single “Whole New Way” was originally a Japan only b-side release. re-recording it was definitely a good idea, the tune is clearly more than a b-side. it shines a solid pop track with the sort of creepy feel-good dance vibes that could only come from the horrors… and well quite a few other bands. it totally makes me think of the “i’d fuck me” scene from silence of the lambs too. the single drops november 2 via XL, and the track is available to stream on their website right now.. what could you possibly be waiting for??
“Heart of Stone” is off The Raveonettes forthcoming LP In and Out of Control dropping early october. it showcases The Raveonettes doing what they do best.. throw-back minimal rock and roll with infectious riffs, dark melodies, harmonies and killer songssongssongs! “last dance” is dec too. dig..
i’ve watched this movie like 4 times this week! i can’t believe guitar hero actually got it on tv.. sure the game blows, but when it comes to the telescreen nowadays – i’ll take it..
plain and simple, the movie kicks ass, and so does a hard days night… let it be, the anthology… fuck it’s all brillant. the beatles were brillant. when was the last time any band was this fucking cool? makes you wonder the point of even having bands anymore??
this song makes me want to break stuff. basically.. eddy current = aussie ruckus = rock and roll. off their new sophomore album Primary Colours. we couldn’t be more pleased to find out that they formed during a random jam session at a vinyl pressing factory company Christmas party. and just in case you were wondering, as their video proves.. there’s not too many things more punk rock than a beach party
quest for fire 2: the cavemen take toronto. shit would be huge. who else is on board? we could prob get the geico cavemen dudes in there somehow. and we could prob get them to work for beer. we can have a script mocked up in 48-72 hours. (we’re talkin’ killer neanderthal jokes!) steven spielberg put us on …our phones are not gonna ring themselves.
“Talk Tonight” was written after Noel Gallagher first left oasis during their ’94 US tour. they weren’t done then, or in 96′ when they started a tour in the states with liam house shopping back home with the misses, they weren’t done in 2000 when noel left the band during their world tour. and there’s more in between, but the point is.. are they actually done now?
hope not. as much slack as this band gets for not being what they were in the 90’s, they are simply one of few, a small handful of bands that can actually still hold it down as a relevant rock and roll band after almost 18 years. should they actually be over this time, it would be a shame. ok – to see noel do a non-accompanied solo tour, neil young style, would be mind blowing. a solo record would be incredible as well. but what wouldn’t be incredible is seeing oasis fall into the “reunion” band category. they’ll do it for the money, fuck the pistols did it, but it’s a sad and uninspiring moment for a band when shit like that happens.
so will another “talk tonight” come out of this break? hope so. it’s clearly one of noel’s best songs ever, and a b-side of course. does any band even have better b-sides than oasis?? either way, to see what happens with the big O in the near future will be an interesting course of events, at least to us. so we’ll keep you posted.
