“Wake Up This Day” is the newest stream from rising UK producer/artist Tom Misch’s upcoming Beat Tape 2. “Wake Up This Day” featuring the syrupy smooth vocal stylings of singer Jordan Rakei, the track spins a decidedly neo-soul bent; deviating a bit from Misch’s more typical modern vibe pop oeuvre. Beat Tape 2 is out August 28th.

Buzzing UK foursome Zola Blood the authors of a trio of Hypem hits, “Grace”, “Meridian” and latest “Play Out” which is the subject of a new remix from Anglo-French duo Konkret Cutz. On the mix, which B3 is very pleased to present a premiere for, K.C. select a palette of a far-off techno-styled instrumental fitted to a more house-leaning rhythm structure splicing in neatly framed looped bits of Zola Blood’s melody and synth pads. Jam out to New Zealand psychedelic-soul duo Electric Wire Hustle on their ambient-expressive cumbersome-weighted new one “Brother Sun” which features an off-kilter-transverse hip-hop leaning vivid-opposite beat that meshes well with the dreamy soul-inspired emotion-stirring vocals of Kiwi B3 remix-darling Kimbra—a Grammy Award winner who we think makes the production. We enjoy the mellow disco-scratch-jazz hybrid sentiments driving the song and look forward to enjoying Electric Wire Hustle’s new upcoming “Aeons” EP out on August 28th. Reviewed by Erin Shay.
