Leo Kalyan – Silver Linings

leokalyan2

Tune into the profoundly-adorning r&b songwriting, piano-led melody and quietly-laid sensibly-subtle beats on “Silver Linings” the delicately-voiced ultra-contemporary EP-namesake track from new B3-artist fave London-based organic-beat-maker and singer-songwriter Leo Kalyan. “Silver Linings” is Kalyan’s third track to drop in about a month off his new “Silver Linings” EP (which is out today). Gorgeous song! Reviewed by Erin Shay.

Ambassadeurs – Looking At You (Moods Remix)

ambassadeurs

Veteran beat-maker/producer Moods, a.k.a. Dutch artist Nick Moods, turns in a sweetly captivating synth-led boogie-funk-swaggered dance-centric fix of “Looking At You” the sultry-paced radiantly-sublime deep-atmosphered Ambassadeurs (“Patterns” EP) track which we recently featured here on B3. Vic Mensa – Codeine Crazy

vicmensa

Chicago’s own Vic Mensa has been killing recently and, with songs like “U Mad” featuring Kanye West, it’s hard to not see how. On new track “Codeine Crazy”, Vic shows off a great and soothing vocal over a beat worth getting stuck in your head. Reviewed by Jake Goldstein.

KYLE – King Wavy (Feat. G-Eazy)

kyle

Ever since Kyle’s first album came out, Beautiful Loser, the SoCal rapper has been one of my favorite artists. Kyle just dropped 3 new songs (incl. the G-Eazy-featuring “King Wavy”) that are dope and unique in their own way. Take a listen, none disappoint. Reviewed by Jake Goldstein.

abhi//dijon – Wait

abhidijon

Go deep with the beautifully-layered sentiment-drenched vocals, trap-beat-inspired tempo and exquisitely stylized hip-hop beats/r&b hybrid production dynamics on new track “Wait” from producer/singer duo abhi//dijon, also known as Abhi Raju and Dijon Duenas; an immensely talented R&B act that we last featured for their voluptuously magnetic beat-poppin’ new jam “ECS”. The Maryland duo, who we have not heard from in awhile, are back-in-the game with a fresh new NPR Music-featured track that (as per their very excellent usual) entices and charms our dreamy slow-jam sentimentality and has us wanting to hear more abhi//dijon. Fortunately, new one “Wait” is the first single to release off the duo’s upcoming (no details yet) “Stay Up” EP. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

HASEEB & Curtiss King – Deep Gritty (Feat. Freeway)

haseeb

In conjunction with their not-yet-released joint project called The Daisy Chain, Cali MC/rapper-producer duo HASEEB and Curtiss King team up for a sweetly rhythmic melodic-guitar-laced street-vibe-rep’d dark-hit stunner hip-hop jam “Deep Gritty”; which revels in a pleasantly-palleted soft-atmospheric vintage hip-hop vibe and felicitous array of lushly-delivered raw-surfaced vocals (featuring the raspy-toned rhyme n’ flow of vet Philly rapper Freeway). New track “Deep Gritty” (which includes flowery gritty-sensed cover artwork created by HASEEB) is the second single to release off the collaboration’s upcoming new “The Daisy Chain” EP (which has an unknown release date at this point). Great track! Reviewed by Erin Shay.

Mike Stud – Never Going Back (Feat. Moosh & Twist)

mikestud

Mike Stud connects with Philadelphia’s own Moosh and Twist on this car banger of a track. Louis Bell captures the pulse of the song with the beat, while Moosh and Twist nail the lyric verses as usual. In classic Mike Stud style, the artist provides a smooth flow that you’ll feel guilty skipping over. Moosh and Twist are due to drop new material in the coming months, so be on the lookout. Foreign/National – Pacific Cruise

foreignnational

Get into the brightly imaginative tangle of Motown-inspired nostaligic-pop (involving a range of sounds from a rad funk guitar groove, heated high-drama-pace breathy-reverb’ed fatalist-vibe vocals and a punctuating-dynamic bass-line) on new Foreign/National track “Pacific Cruise” which we are drawn to for its horn-tinged upbeat-jazzy percussion-ambient vintage vibe and pointed slightly-wry lyrical prose. B3 last covered the warped-vintage-pop/psych-rocker Aussie five-piece for their retro-vibe blissful-downcast atmosphere’d sentimental lo-fi gem “The Hedonist”. “Pacific Cruise” is the first single off of Foreign/National’s next EP that is set to release at an unknown date via DOWNTIME (the same label who rep’d the group’s self-titled debut EP). Good stuff! We are totally stoked to hear more from their upcoming album. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

NVDES – Unforgettable

nvdes

We like the overt-cheery subtlety and emotive David Bowie-vibe high-ranged vocals on the deliciously warm and friendly new synth-driven acoustic-guitar tinged indie pop track “Unforgettable” from new LA-based act Nvdes, which is a little-known collaboration (for now) rumored on the blogosphere to be a spinoff of some well-known big name talent(s) or act. We’re hoping that Nvdes is some divinely talented newcomer just to root for the underdog. Either way, we are totally entertained by the uniquely weighty cool-atmosphered retro-new-wave vibe of Nvdes, who also recently released their stunner whispery-vocaled 80’s centric debut track “Before The Weekend”. P.S. We are strangely drawn to your awesome melon-showcasing EP artwork. Reviewed by Erin Shay.
