Team B3 was in the building for the San Francisco version of Indio Beer and Vice Magazine’s Casa Indio tour. Conceived to help increase visbility of Mexican and Mexican-American musicians and artists in the U.S., the San Francisco Casa Indio stop is one of four to take place in 2013; the others being Los Angeles, Austin & Chicago.
Casa Indio’s two week line-up (the festival runs through Nov. 9) of nearly 20 artists included Wednesday night’s performances from Boiler Room L.A. vet Shawn Reynaldo and Icee Hot records artists Ghosts on Tape. The vibey modern house of both Reynaldo’s and Ghosts sets did nicely to complement the venue’s relaxed, artistically well-appointed atmosphere (and free beer).
Casa Indio continues Thursday Nov. 7 at the Folsom Street Foundry with sets from DJ Vin Soul, Bobby Browser, Matrixxman, and Jason Kendig. For further information about Casa Indio including future performances, gallery showings, and how to RSVP; visit casaindio.vice.com.
Manchester-based producer Oceaán restyles current indie it girl MØ’s “XXX 88” nearly unrecognizable (but in a very good way). The after hours house/R&B blend on Oceaán’s mix is the sort sound we imagine our MØ “chilling” too after busy evening of raging. The “Bikini Daze” EP is out now.

Raleigh Ritchie, whom you heard first on B3SCI, drops off a new relase from his upcoming second EP (“Black and Blue”) with “Overdose”. Helmed by “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe” producer Sounwave (Raleigh Ritchie also supported Kendrick in the UK earlier this year), “Overdose” is 4 minutes 20 of vibe-y hip hop-informed R&B you need in your life ASAP.

Joel Compass’ #1 fan, Pusha T (bro called up Island/Def Jam to get on this song after he heard Joel was signed to the label) jumps on fast rising R&B artist Joel Compass’ track for “Run”. On “Run”, Compass’ smooth tenor provides a quality complement for Push’s gritty coke-fueled braggadoccio. We, of course, are expecting further big things from Joel Compass in 2014.

“Beneath The Black and Purple” is the lead single from Trouble in Mind Records artist Morgan Delt. The California-based Delt will release a self-titled debut LP through the label in January. “Beneath The Black and Purple” does well to balance it’s psychedelic-ness with a firm rudder of tight rhythm and concise melody.
