Launder – Annie Blue

“Annie Blue” is the latest track previewed from Launder forthcoming “Pink Cloud”. Produced by Jackson Philips (Day Wave), “Annie Blue” wins on its really strong melodic writing (it’s awesome melodic hook, after awesome melodic hook, etc) souped up quite nicely in a sheen on reverb-y guitar c/o DIIV’s Zachary Cole Smith.

Gosh Pith – True Blue

Team Gosh will be touring the Midwest in October (see dates below) and in sync with those upcoming dates are streaming a fly new track in the form of “True Blue”. About the track Josh S. had to say, “The idea for ‘True Blue’ came to us while we were in the car late one night driving home from a show at a college town in the Midwest – we got pulled over and had a real trippy hour or so with a state trooper. Like most of our music, sex, love, and drugs are the forefront of the story but at its essence of the song is really just about staying true to yourself and everything you stand for.” Get cool with “True Blue” below.

Premiere: Palace Winter – Positron

“Positron” is brand new single from breakthrough Danish duo Palace Winter. The twosome of Carl Coleman and Caspar Hesselager hit the top of the Hype Machine Popular chart last year with “Menton” and earned accolades, plaudits and exposure from places like The Guardian, 6 Music, and our humble website. “Positron” is the band’s return single and it propels forward the band’s dreamy but still straightforward hooky R.E.M.-ref’ing sound in a way that’s more focused and more sophisticated in its arrangement. Well done. Stream the B3 Premiere of “Positron” from Palace Winter below and look out for a bit of news from the band tomorrow!

Opia – Falling

opia

Opia are the duo of producer Jacob Reske and guitarist Cole Citrenbaum. The pair met as math and physics majors at Yale and now ply their trade in R&B-driven modern pop. “Falling” excels on Mr. Citrenbaum’s blues/jazz-informed guitar playing which adds a cool texture/layer to a very current sound. Sample “Falling” below.

Premiere: Palace Winter – New Ghost

Palace_Winter_Daniel_Buchwald_1_web

Palace Winter, the duo of Australian singer-songwriter Carl Coleman and Danish producer-pianist Caspar Hesselager, follow up their Hype Machine topping track “Menton” with jangly new one “New Ghost”. The latest track rides a tight 4/4 and neat arpeggiated guitar figures to cool folk-influenced indie pop excellence. The particularly special component of “New Ghost” and what we love about Palace Winter generally are the unique/affecting/unexpected turns both melodically and in the chord progressions. A+.

Palace Winter – Menton

palacewinter

We dig the REM-vibe wandering-melodic dreamy vocal atmospherics, monotone talky-soliloquy style background vocal interludes and brightly-laced jangled-mash of psych-rock attitudes of male duo Palace Winter (Australian singer-songwriter Carl Coleman and Danish producer-pianist Caspar Hesselager) on their new expansive bright-vibed 6:20-minute indie jam called “Menton” which is the second single from the duo’s “Medication” EP out on Oct 2, 2015. OVERWERK – Conquer

overwerk

Spin a bit of expansive intense-natured dub-inspired whimsy into your day with “Conquer” a bass-driven silky-synth-ed intergalactic mood-setter from Canadian producer OVERWERK, a talented artist (previously featured on B3) who also just released a sparkling-dynamic sci-fi-cinematic original track “Create” which we also appreciate for its finely-laid left-brained fundamentals and brightly emotive soft-sided chemics. Nocturnal Sunshine – Intergalactic

nocturnalsunshine

Delve into the dreamy beat-driven deep-house expanses and sweetly-incessant vibrantly-imagnative tropical rhythms of “Intergalactic” an excellent new dub-based dance track from Nocturnal Sunshine; the newly-revived (so-far-so-awesome in 2015) solo-side-project from UK producer Maya Jane Coles; who B3-featured in May (as Nocturnal Sunshine) for her dub-heavy dark-pop-inspired Chelou-vocaled original gem track “Believe”. Both songs are off Nocturnal Sunshine’s new May-released self-titled second EP which is out via her own label I/AM/ME. Reviewed by Erin Shay

Lady – Get Ready

lady

Lady, the duo of 90’s R&B-stress & BlakRoc collaborator Nicole Wray and UK singer Terri Walker that we first hipped you to back in November, delivers a second single perhaps better that their first. The minor-keyed “sneaky groover” “Get Ready” is a different look as compared to that first single (the sunny skipping “Money”) for the Truth & Soul Records artists but its definitely one we’re into, like REALLY INTO. Excellent.
