Field Mouse – How Do You Know

Airy new dream pop by way of NYC’s Field Mouse. While lo-fi on the surface, by all accounts, the chorus and guitar hook in “How Do You Know” are larger than life. The track will be released on 7″ as part of the new Lefse single series. Get a sneak peek below.

The Melker Project – Angels Roulette (The XX Vs. Rihanna)

NYC mix artist Melker brings a most patient and subtle touch to The XX “Angels”. The drums and guitars from Rihanna’s “Russian Roulette” couldn’t be a better fit. Check out the track below.

Six Six Seconds – Tearing Down Heaven

The mysterious unknown weirdos (spoooooky) Six Six Seconds drop off new track “Tearing Down Heaven”. A mix of MBV-feel and Big Black-style production techniques, SSS convey a detached ten-miles-beneath-the-sea sort of sound; that and there’s a pretty solid groove buried asunder those oceanic (production) volumes. Give it a try.

Ciara – Sorry

Grown Ciara (girl is 26 now) comes with a grown record in “Sorry”. The new track, which is the lead single from The Big C’s upcoming One Woman Warrior LP, sees the R&B singer on some of that “I’m thinking about tomorrow and future”-type stuff. As the millennial crunk diva ages the path put forth on “Sorry” seems an appropriate one (Are we listening Mariah?) and hopefully her fans are ready for it.

Breakbot – Another Dawn (Feat. Irfane)

The Breakbot man lets loose the latest teaser for his upcoming (due Sept. 17) Ed Banger release By Your Side. The relaxed “Another Dawn” is a well-executed marriage of more cooled Daft Punk tracks and more piano-driven Francophone pop. We promise you’ll like it.

The New Union – Without You

You’ll either forgive or love the Blink 182 style intros and Rzeznik bridges in “Without You” by Brighton’s The New Union. Still undeniable is the jangle that draws you in like any great guitar song you’ve heard on alternative radio on both sides of the Atlantic for the last 20 years. Grab it on Two Sisters Records 10/8.
