“Mona Lisa Overdrive” is Tango in the Attic’s second single from their forthcoming album, Sellotape, and comes with an accompanying video featuring footage from their time at SXSW this year. What we’ve heard so far from the new album points towards an altogether nosier, garage sound than the debut Blank Place Locomotive Society whilst hanging on firmly to their energetic pop qualities. Sellotape will be out on May 28th.

Manchester collective No Ceremony have just dropped this official remix of “Need Your Love” from The Temper Trap’s brand new self-titled LP. The track is a mean variation, both melodic and fierce, it’s a banger for the books, and B3SCI has got your premeire. Get into it!

Harlan’s Native Son EP is a delightful pop carousel, one of my fav EPs as of late, with heady hooks to be enjoyed by music lovers of all ages. Per the Echo: “It has been described as Prince meets Genesis meets Shuggie Otis.” However, songs like “I Never” also show off a Nilsson Schmillson variety involving the rare juxtaposing of whimsicality and self-seriousness. Sprinklings of da Doobie Bros and Jamiroquai can be detected as well. We’re mightily stoked here @ B3SCI for his May residency at the Echo, one of the more exciting in recent memory. Harlan can hit all the notes and plays just about every instrument as well. And right when you think you’ve heard it all, there’s that desert rock guitar on the EP’s title track. Absolutely righteous!

The Temper Trap bring the Zooropa standard into their framework for a moment, while covering of a song, that unlike covering just any great song, has featured Bono’s voice. Kudos adaptation.

If you are longing for some fresh Muse, this band by way of Iowa just might help you through the drought. The Envy Corp. definitely have that vibe with some Radiohead mixed in. They are a complex band with depth that requires some attention, and the groove will really begin to stick with you about halfway through the song. A couple of listens have worked for me. Think Muse with a groove on “Ms. Hospital Corners”.

Many know Ben Browning for his dance floor busting bass chops in Cut Copy. Most recently though, Ben has been making noise with his new solo and nostalgic tinged electro pop debut EP titled Lover Motion. SoCals can catch him perform songs from the EP, as well as his single “I Can’t Stay” alongside support from up and comers Blondfire, Sotto Voce (featuring Anthony Burulcich of The Bravery), Warships and a DJ set from Steffi Graf this Friday at Central S.A.P.C.
We’ve got one pair of tickets to giveaway for this hot Friday night show! To win email us here and let us know that you want the Ben Browning hook up! We will pick our winner at random on Friday, day of the gig. You can get additional details on the show at Central S.A.P.C. Good luck!
