Long Arm’s stunning “The Branches” sounds bit like what Portishead’s Third might’ve sounded like had those geezers not totally shat the bed. Jerky, detached, heavy beats frame fuzzed out jazz and vocal samples. Rapper Teknical Development of UK hip hop group Obba Supa flows a few choice pensive bars into the mix.

It’s back to the “Rave On” album of Buddy Holly covers, due to drop June 28. It’s hard to go wrong with a Holly song, but Florence + the Machine outdid themselves on “Not Fade Away”.
