Out now on Egghunt Records is “Juice” the new EP for Richmond VA band Camp Howard. The summery title track sets a neat balance that we’re digging between clear, hooky pop writing and hazier/more meandering bits of guitar and melody. Stream “Juice” below.
Alexander Lewis is known best for his high energy productions and impressive brass instrumentation. This tune (a booming remix of Kaaris’ “Charge”) is no different. As Lewis’ trombone graces the song, the melody of “Charge” floods in and hits the listener hard. We’re big advocates of this artist so be sure to keep an eye on him this year!
The Fred Cox-produced (Lion Babe, Janelle Monae) “Comfortably Me” is impeccable new pop from UK singer based in London Chloe Leone.
Hot off the Chaos in the CBD press is another excellent mix from the UK via NZ production duo; a remix of “Gray Paper Moon” from another New Zealand artist now based in London Jon Sable.
Slowdive’s Rachel Goswell (get at that new Slowdive LP if you haven’t listened yet) guests on the percussive new bit of chamber rock from Beach Fossils entitled “Tangerine”. Somersault is out June 2nd on Bayonet Records.

New favorite Nilufer Yanya will release the agronomically-titled “Plant Feed” EP via Blue Flowers Music on June 9th. A component part of the EP is the horns-led “Golden Cage” which explores the more hook-driven side of Yanya’s refreshing sound and is available to stream below.
Philadelphia four-piece Palm will release new “Shadow Expert” EP via the venerable Carpark Records on June 16th. “Shadow Expert”‘s first stream is “Walkie Talkie”, a broadside of guitar stabs and time signature swerves that sounds nothing like any other buzz band out right now (all that without losing any listenable-ness or potential for accessibility, too).
