Hippo Campus – Boyish

World conquerors Hippo Campus release first new song in over a year in the form of “Boyish”. The St. Paul MN quartet played SXSW, performed on Conan, and racked up nearly 15M streams online in their climb and will now tour the US throughout the remainder of October starting in Kansas City on Saturday. Goldwash – LDR

Goldwash has been coming up in a big way in recent months, and for good reason. This guy’s iconic style of existential funk music mixes elements of funk, electronic, and indie rock to create soul-filled soundscapes. “LDR” is the titled of his most recent piece. Emotion-driven lyrics and feeling filled production make this a track that’s sure to be cycling through my playlists for some time to come. Reviewed by Selena Shaw

Tulpa – Gnats (Feat. BLANKTS)

Vocalist BLANKTS and producer Tülpa recently collaborated on a delicate indie electronic track, “GNATS.” Gentle vocals over a nostalgic instrumental make for tune that promises to keep you cozy as we get into Fall. Nilüfer Yanya – Keep On Calling

Nilüfer Yanya will make her headline debut at London’s Slaughtered Lamb on November 17. “Keep On Calling” is the second track online from the buzzed about singer (following August’s great “Small Crimes”). “Keep On Calling” excels on its cool jazzy melodic phrases and A+ command and setting of mood and tone.

Jack River – Palo Alto

“Palo Alto” is new from Australian songwriter Holly Rankin a/k/a Jack River. Wound around a Nirvana-esque groove (“About a Girl”), “Palo Alto” blends elements of West Coast US indie with that aforementioned grunge feel. The result is differentially cool blend of styles made great by Rankin’s strong sense of melody. Listen below.

[B3SCI Records] Elohim – Hallucinating

Out now on B3SCI is “Hallucinating” the fresh new single from L.A.-based singer Elohim. Following up on previous B3 releases “She Talks Too Much / Xanax”, “The Bridge and the Wall / Pigments” and her self-titled debut EP, “Hallucinating” is a further exercise in genre dexterity and nimbleness for Elohim. El’s on tour now with Irish artist EDEN (remaining dates below) and will be headed out with lords of Chi-city Louis The Child in November (see below).
