The legendary DJ Premier breathes life into the Game’s corpse of a rap career on the track for “Born in the Trap”. We’ve all heard Jayceon rhyme and flow like this over 9000 times but, and prob as a testament to Primo’s skills, some how Game sounds FRESH here. So add this to “She Wanna Have My Baby” as a second non-skip through track on Game’s upcoming R.E.D. Album, due August 23.

LA collective Fiore stride, in a sense, toward recent bands like Tame Impala and MGMT with their welcome appreciation for psychedelic pop music. Granted psychedelic music has seen its fair share of cliche, but like the genre’s worthy projects past and present Fiore’s LP (self-titled, debut in this case) works as a whole. It’s a record that encourages in the listener that appreciation for the art of tone and statement, in other words… it’s not a throw on and fall in love in 30 seconds type of listening experience. The LP makes its moves sonically in favor of something more substantive. “Ruins (Part II)” has been a favorite of our experience thus far check it out below:

“Polar Bear” is a nice ditty from Giraffage. We mean that in the nicest kind of way, it captivates with its dreamy bitstep like qualities. The debut LP Comfort is set for release this fall.
Giraffage – Polar BearBlu’s latest “My Sunshine” features Nia Andrews and makes our mix for tomorrow morning. The track’s flow finds a trance, a constant moment, one of those ‘don’t let it stop’ type grooves. The hook satisfies and back for more.

Mariachi El Bronx is a side project of the LA punk buzz band The Bronx. This is the song that they nailed on Jay Leno last Thursday night. It’s a long way from punk but you can feel some of that same energy. Listen to it and/or watch it below. Contributed by Bruce Rave
