Effervescent soul beamed straight into your ears from Sydney, Australia, the vaguely Caribbean-influenced “Raffled Roses” is the newest gem from New Zealand-born WALLACE who we loved last back in December on “Negroni Eyes”.

Out now on B3SCI Records is “Cry Baby”, the new Mike Crossey (The 1975, Foals)-produced single from our faves in Brighton, Fickle Friends. The track available now on limited 7″ pink vinyl was called “excellent indie pop” by Stereogum and a “pop jam” by Nylon. Further details on the release can be had at B3SCI Records. Added bonus(!) UK R&B heavy-hitters HONNE have remixed “Cry Baby” which is available for your streaming pleasure below.
Wingtip is Brooklyn-based producer Nick Perloff-Giles. Back in June we gave the B3 stamp to the party track “Missing You” and now Wingtip returns this week with equally strong follow-up in the form of “Need Me”. We dig the cool juxtaposition in the track between it’s more melancholic vocal bits vs it’s otherwise dance-pop instrumentation. About “Need Me”, Wingtip said similarly, “The sound of a guitar in reverse for some reason always sounds kind of mournful and nostalgic to me, so putting it over this otherwise upbeat instrumental gave it this kind of bittersweet quality that just connected.” Get into “Need Me” below.

Shapes in Calgary is the Brooklyn-based project of singer Alyssa Ciorciari and collaborators, producer/engineer Gary Atturio (Savoir Adore, Ski Lodge), drummer Tim McCoy (Darwin Deez, Field Mouse) and guitarist Billy Libby. The BK outfit on new track “Home” operate within a wide well of melodic empathy (try not feeling at least a tiny bit more emotionally empowered after listening to “Home”) and strong songcraft (“Home” features a cool blend of sounds and styles, 80’s pop/modern indie/songwriter, cooked up in a unique way). We dig “Home” and we’re very pleased to B3 Premiere the song below.
We’ve posted Swedish duo Grapell a couple of times knocked out by their wistful at times sax-driven dark pop. “Some Places” (from the band’s upcoming “Love Chamber” EP out September 30th) is a very good new track from the duo that sticks to a similar aesthetic as previous tracks like “Arrow” while exploring more spacious arrangement ideas.
On “About You” Colouring (fka Osca) pulls off what can at times be a near impossible task to realize, create a well-constructed modern pop song that still feels inherently soulful and just real. “About You” is that sort of song. Well done.
“Pray”, the new one from star in the making Bishop Briggs (“River”), is perfection. Ms. Briggs delivers in a big way at a crucial career moment in following up her breakout track. A+++++++++.
