Creatively constructed guitars, vocals, and percussion make “Houdini Crush” a bit like those Choose Your Own Adventure books you read in grade school. You follow the music as it begins to build a musical adventure, then the song comes to a juncture where the form opens and primes for melodic interpretation; you can go where the band takes you, or you can add in your own constructs along the way.
