“there’s people downstairs!” brogues twilight sad frontman james graham. you can just feel something heavy about this record…..the feel/dynamic of expansion/unfurling vs. collapse/narrowing/dwindling. that feel, though, isn’t in the vocal is it (still great)? or even in the rhythm section (fuckin awesome)? you could maybe argue the guitar (brilliant) is at least partially responsible? i’m not sure what exactly is propelling the song’s dynamic in this way (maybe this). i don’t think its necessarily one thing or a combination of one things, its a _________ that is far more ________.
