Fellow b3sci fam Erin and I were talking this newest version of Jamie xx’s “Bloom” remix earlier today and we were both like whoa (no Black Robb) “When did all music start sounding like this?” It’s kind of true, when did all music (at least on the internet) start sounding like Jamie’s new “Bloom” remix? So, great. Souped up British garage-influenced space R&B is now ON TOP. WHERE IS THE BACKLASH? Come on indie music press don’t sleep on that backlash. We know y’all love a good backlash. p.s. We really love this remix.

Much like our girl V. Williams, Thom Yorke always knows how to “save the best for last”. The final installment in the King of Limbs remix series finds one of the hottest electronic musicians in the world right now remixing KOL‘s easily best track (read: only listenable). It’s SBTRKT, it’s Radiohead, it’s “Lotus Flower”, and it’s live on b3sci.

Jamie xx spins a beautiful turn over Radiohead’s track for “Bloom”. 5-star track.

Radiohead continue their long march towards shining up that gloomy shitbrick of an LP they dropped earlier this year. This time “Separator” gets the A-List remix treatment via the Four Tet man. The mix is one part spaceballs, one part Massive Attack’s “Teardrop”, and one part “pretty good” remix. See if you can sort all those parts out for yourself below.

Michael P Cullen’s newest single “Do You Believe” channels the brooding alt rock of Radiohead with a kitsch repetitiveness that seems to evoke a darker rendition of Spoon in their heyday. After the first listen, the track seems to seep into your head, refusing to leave.

B3 recently showcased UK band Kins for their fast-paced progressively-inclined guitar-rock EP first-single “Young” from the foursome’s “Cyclical” EP (out now via East City Records). Much like “Young”, the EP’s title track “Cyclical” stands out as a creative ace; we especially like its robust and dramatic synth accents, brightly emotive instrumentals and the track’s fresh vastly-wavering highly-vulnerable vocal style which (more so on “Cyclical”) has a modern-twist vocal charisma feel that draws comparison to Thom Yorke from Radiohead school of singing.
