Throwback Saturday: Cressida – 6am (Kyau And Albert Remix)

Club music has many fans. But I don’t believe the average JOEnie loves Chachi knows when done right, the genre is essential. It is clear DJ Tiesto (amongst others) gets slack because he is mainstream. We must remember music was born for the masses. Just because everybody likes it doesn’t mean it is bad. Innovative “artists” are simply sparse. 2006 – 2008 is my golden age for trance. Tiesto couldn’t help releasing this vocal, dance track in his 2008 Asia-inspired compilation. And, you can bet your bottom dollar the full version is even better. By Teddy Pendergrass

Cour Vette – Cafe Disco x At Night (Demo)

Not much is known about the recently created Cour Vette, but by the tracks released so far, you can tell there is some talent behind those decks. Canadian producer Teen Daze has been dropping Cour Vette’s new release via Facebook, which leads me to believe that it just may be him under a different moniker. Either way, tracks like “Cafe Disco” take me back to some great French House records, and not just the obvious Daft Punk, but early releases from Ed Banger Records, Kitsuné and other Parisian dance labels. MAUSI – Move

Newcastle Italo-popppers MAUSI’s new single “Move” is synth pop realised at its highest level. The summer-in-the-bleak-midwinter feel of “Move” is boosted up by a veritable sundrenched blitz (“sundrenched blitz” yeah, we just took it there.) of hooks and melody. The “Move” single is due 4th March on the Loose Lips label (Azari and III & Chad Valley).

Amba Shepherd – Soldier (Paris Blohm Remix)

When B3SCI sent over to me this banger from Paris Blohm (formely Parisyte), after one spin, I knew it had to be shared. The LA progressive-house DJ reworked Amba Shepherd’s vocal for “Solider”, and created a brilliant dance floor jam. Right from the start, the beat is hard and the build is intense. Add synths and a balanced mix and the overall product is pretty epic. By Brian Litwin

Azekel – Get It On (T-Rex/XXYYXX Cover)

East Londoner Azekel delivers a compelling red wine-flavored 2 AM marriage of T-Rex’s “Bang a Gong” on top an XXYYXX instrumental. We’re just bummed we didn’t think of first. A+

Premiere: Love Echo – Daybreak

Seductively ambient and drenched in legato, “Daybreak” is a highlight from the forthcoming debut LP, I Promise You Always The Sky, by new Luxembourg duo, Love Echo. To date only a select set of lauded tracks have surfaced from the group. On “Daybreak” producer Vic Miranda and vocalist Vicki Glass continue their journey down a road of electro beauty with a warm and unique blend of glo-fi. I Promise You Always The Sky drops January 28th via LebenStrasse Records.

Ali Jamieson – Four Thirty (Alizzz Remix)

It’s about to get freaky! Alizzz’s new mix on Ali Jamieson’s “Four Thirty” is somehow on both the b3 “crunchy” and “lush” levels that it makes us all want to do the praying mantis dance. Bend yr elbows like a praying mantis.
